5SOS: Michael Clifford and Crystal Leigh show off their matching pink hair

5 Seconds of Summer guitarist Michael Clifford and his fiancée Crystal Leigh were forced to postpone their wedding earlier this year due to to the Covid-19 pandemic.

But on Thursday, the engaged couple looked stronger than ever despite the setback as they showed off their matching pink hair on Instagram.

While they have remained tight-lipped about their nuptials, a source close to the pair said they’re putting their wedding on hold until it’s safe for both their families to attend.

Michael and Crystal are said to be waiting for international travel to resume so his parents, who live in Sydney, are able to travel to Los Angeles for the ceremony.

Their wedding was originally scheduled for January, but travel restrictions caused by the global pandemic meant they had to scrap their plans. 

Back in December, Crystal had treated her 709,000 Instagram followers to a glimpse of her Galia Lahav wedding gown.

‘I said yes to the dress (actually just the designer). I was way too obsessed with everything I tried on, so we decided to design a custom dress together,’ she said.

Michael proposed to his model girlfriend in January 2019.

His groomsmen will be his 5 Seconds of Summer bandmates: bassist Calum Hood, drummer Ashton Irwin, and lead vocalist and rhythm guitarist Luke Hemmings.

His best man will be Calum.

Explaining his decision, Michael told Daily Mail Australia: ‘We were talking about it for a long time and the only reason I picked Calum is I’ve known him the longest.’

5 Seconds of Summer was formed in western Sydney when the band members were still in high school.

The group has gone on to release a string of hit albums, including latest release Calm, which was voted by Billboard as one of The 25 Best Pop Albums of 2020.
