Adam Sandler dedicated his new movie Hubie Halloween to his late Grown Ups co-star Cameron Boyce: ‘Gone way too soon’

Adam Sandler’s new movie Hubie Halloween debuted Wednesday on Netflix, with fans noticing the star left a tribute to Cameron Boyce.

Boyce, who starred alongside Sandler in Grown Ups and Grown Ups 2, passed away last July at just 20 years of age, due to complications from epilepsy.

While the credits roll on Hubie Halloween, a photo of Boyce is shown along with a heartfelt message in tribute to the late actor.

‘In loving memory of CAMERON BOYCE. Gone way too soon and one of the kindest, coolest, funniest, and most talented kids we knew. You live on forever in our hearts and are truly missed every day,’ the tribute read. 

Boyce played Keithie Feder, the spoiled son of Adam Sandler’s Lenny Feder in the 2010 comedy Grown Ups, returning in the 2013 sequel Grown Ups 2.

Boyce was found unresponsive in his home on July 6, 2019, and pronounced dead later that day.

His family confirmed three days later that he passed away due to an epileptic seizure, which was confirmed by the autopsy later that month.

Sandler took to Instagram the day after his co-star’s death, sharing a photo of Boyce along with a heartfelt statement.

‘Too young. Too sweet. Too funny. Just the nicest, most talented, and most decent kid around,’ Sandler began.

‘Loved that kid. Cared so much about his family. Cared so much about the world. Thank you, Cameron, for all you gave to us,’ he added.

‘So much more was on the way. All our hearts are broken. Thinking of your amazing family and sending our deepest condolences,’ Sandler concluded.

Sandler also took to his Instagram in late May, sharing another photo of Boyce to honor him on what would have been his 21st birthday.

He also included a link to KnowSudepow.org, a partnership between the Epilepsy Foundation and the Cameron Boyce Foundation.

Hubie Halloween is the latest in Sandler’s long-running deal to make films exclusively for the Netflix streaming service.
