Alex Rodriguez was hinting that there was trouble for he and his now ex Jennifer Lopez in the hours before the pair announced their split.
Late on Wednesday night, the 45-year-old former MLB player shared an emotional video to his Instagram story showing photos and memories with Lopez over the years, set to Coldplay’s famous love ballad Fix You.
The following morning, Jennifer and Alex released a statement confirming the end of their two-year engagement and four-year relationship.

The camera panned around to several framed photos of Alex, Jennifer and their blended family – Rodriguez’s two girls, Natasha, 16, and Ella, 12, and Lopez’s twins Emme and Max, 13.
One of the images – a photo of the words ‘Jennifer + Alex’ written in the sand with a heart around it – appeared to have been from the vacation when the couple first got engaged.
Ironically, Alex actually tagged @jlo in the video with a blue heart around her Instagram handle.

Just hours after the video was shared, the A-listers released a statement announcing the news that they’d broken up. The news comes weeks after sources revealed the couple was on the outs – rumors that Alex and Jennifer publicly denied.
They told Today Thursday morning: ‘We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so. We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects…
‘We wish the best for each other and one another’s children. Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have is to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support’.
Last month, insiders claimed the singer, 51, and the former Yankees player, 45, ended their two-year engagement after suffering issues for some time including being dogged by rumours of Alex’s ‘friendship’ with reality star Madison LeCroy, 30.

A source told the publication: ‘The Madison LeCroy scandal was the reason they finally broke up. There were already problems, but Jennifer was really embarrassed by it.’
The explosive allegations had originally occurred during a recent Southern Charm reunion, where Madison claimed she had been in contact with a married and ex-MLB player. The name had been bleeped out.

During the episode, Madison was also accused of sleeping with the unidentified sports star but she denied ever seeing the man in person, although she did admit to DM-ing him.

Later, Madison revealed in an interview with Page Six she had been in ‘innocent’ communication with Alex but that they had ‘never met up’ and only ‘spoken on the phone’.

However, a source with knowledge of the situation previously told DailyMail.com: ‘Alex has never met or spoken to Madison or anyone from the show.’
