‘What is this?’ Allison Janney shocks fans as she appears to forget her ‘iconic role’ starring in 1999 teen classic 10 Things I Hate About You

So it’s understandable that Allison Janney may have lost track of a few of the roles she’s played throughout her career – which appears to be the case for her part in the 1999 teen classic 10 Things I Hate About You, starring Heath Ledger and Julia Stiles.
Allison, 60, shocked fans on Thursday when she replied to an Instagram comment seemingly admitting that she had no recollection of being in the film.

“I don’t understand! What is this????? What am I in that I forget I was in?” Allison said underneath two images, one of her name as it appears in the film, and another of a line her character has written.
The star provides some of the funniest lines from the movie as high school principal Ms. Perky, who spends her time writing erotic novels.
The racy line in question that is seen in the Instagram snap reads: “As his hand slip up her creamy white thighs, she could feel his huge member pulsating with…”
Her response: Allison responded to a post about her role in the movie and was unable to recall the title of it

To be fair to Allison, had she have been given a little more context, she may have guessed it.
Still, fans were aghast that she appeared to be unable to recall the role from the quote.
One fan wrote: “Nooooo. I think my heart is breaking over you not remembering this role!” while someone else said: “this is devastating that you don’t remember this.”
