Australian stars including Sophie Monk, Natalie Roser and David Genat strip off for a good cause

Australian stars have stripped off to raise money for the Stroke Foundation.

Celebrities including Sophie Monk, Natalie Roser, Lee Carseldine and David Genat are taking part in the ‘towel challenge’, which involves posing in nothing but a towel for a calendar. 

The campaign raises money for the Stroke Foundation which prevents and treats strokes.

Former reality TV star Lee Carseldine said the social media campaign has helped to raise awareness.

‘I didn’t even know there was a stroke foundation,’ he told The Daily Telegraph.

Lee explained: ‘Cancer seems to get more publicity as it’s a common enemy and an enemy everyone wants to beat.

‘Whereas stroke usually will take someone’s life instantly and there isn’t that hatred there like there is for cancer.’

Last month, the former cricketer put a call out to celebrities who would be willing to take their gear off in the name of charity.

Lee also campaigned for stroke awareness during the coronavirus pandemic and last year’s calendar raised an impressive $50,000.

The towel challenge for the Stroke Foundation is a project Lee holds close to his heart.

During the 2019 season of Survivor: Australia, he was forced to leave the jungle early and fly back home after discovering his mother Elizabeth had a stroke.

Sadly, she passed away one hour later.
