Bachelor in Paradise’s Keira Maguire has admitted she initially declined the offer to return to the show after having ‘anxiety’ that she would be face to face with her ex, Jarrod Woodgate, once again.

After rising to fame on Richie Strahan’s season of The Bachelor in 2016, Keira fell for Jarrod on Bachelor in Paradise in 2018 – but the pair dramatically split in August last year.

And Keira admitted that she was apprehensive at giving the dating show another shot, telling TV WEEK: ‘When I went on the first season, I found someone, and it really didn’t end up that nice – I wasn’t desperate for a repeat.’

Keira and Jarrod’s relationship was one of the most prominent success stories to come out of Bachelor In Paradise before they tumultuously split.

And panicked that history would repeat itself, Keira recalled: ‘I haven’t seen him since the break-up, and we definitely don’t talk.

‘It would be full-on, intense, overwhelming and uncomfortable for everyone.’

While the show was filmed seven months ago, it looks like Keira had a brief change of heart.

The couple reunited in January this year, and quickly secured a joint deal to promote the food delivery service Deliveroo on Instagram.

But after weeks of speculation, Keira confirmed she had split with boyfriend Jarrod in April.

Jarrod has since moved onto former Bachelor star, Sam Royce.

Meanwhile, Keira pulled no punches as she entered paradise on Sunday night.

The returning Bachelor In Paradise star quickly asserted her position as ‘queen’ of paradise and clashed with Alisha Aitken-Radburn.

Keira took exception when she found out Alisha, 27, had been talking about her behind her back.

The two women had previously clashed on Instagram over Stories Keira had posted criticising Alisha in the past.

Those issues were again raised at Sunday’s dinner party, and although Alisha was in tears, Keira still pounced.

Alisha famously enjoyed a steamy romance with Jules Bourne last season, but things fizzled out after he dumped her to pursue his connection Tenille Favios instead.

She was told by the others that it wasn’t a good time, Keira snapped: ‘Who cares? If I were her, I wouldn’t mess with me. Okay? ‘Cause you’re messing with the wrong person. Has she not learnt? I’m not just the queen, babes. I run this s**t’

She was crying over memories over that heartbreak, when Keira decided to raise their issues.

‘I feel like we need to go back to when Alisha wanted to say something to me before,’ Keira snapped.

She was told by the others that it wasn’t a good time, and Keira snapped: ‘Who cares? If I were her, I wouldn’t mess with me. Okay?

She then went at Alisha full force, angrily confronting her, saying: ‘I’ve just been told by a few people that you’ve been talking about me today. That’s not a very good character trait. Don’t you think?’

Alisha tried to have the conversation privately but Keira wouldn’t hear of it.

‘I don’t want to chat to someone that I don’t know about something that I have no idea about. I feel like it’s a group conversation. I don’t know anyone here. Some people are just that little bit sensitive, I think,’ she complained.

Off camera, Keira added: ‘I wish Alisha wasn’t here. I don’t know, it just annoys me so much having people question my integrity. Right now everyone’s looking at her, going, “Oh, she’s crying”. And then there’s Keira, “Oh, she’s a b***h.” But, like, I’m used to it. Whatever’

‘When I’m getting told that someone’s talking “badly” about me, with people that I don’t know, like, I have experienced that a lot in my life and I don’t appreciate it. It’s actually really bad quality,’ Keira said.

The fight was shut down when Alisha’s love interest Glenn Smith stepped in and suggested she was only on the show to ‘f**k sh*t up’.
