Fans have been left heartbroken following news that the fourth season of Bachelor in Paradise won’t air on Channel 10 next year.
But despite falling behind The Bachelor and The Bachelorette in the ratings, the spin-off series has entertained viewers with its scandals over the years.
From a gut-wrenching confrontation between exes to bed-hopping contestants and a ‘fake’ engagement, these are the most memorable moments from the show.

The secret girlfriend
Viewers may remember Brett Moore, who joined the first season of Bachelor in Paradise in 2018, despite already having a girlfriend.
Brett and former Bachelor star Stephanie Boulton had reportedly made a secret pact to reunite in Fiji – with him arriving first, and her coming later as an intruder – but they didn’t tell the producers.
Fellow contestant Tara Pavlovic was first to point out the fact Brett was in a relationship, saying: ‘Brett and Steph…they’re a thing, they’re a couple.’
A producer replied: ‘They have told us they were single. Both of them.’
After reluctantly admitting he was in fact seeing Stephanie, who appeared on Matty J’s season of The Bachelor, he was sent packing in the second episode sans rose.

The ‘fake’ engagement
The following year, Bachelor in Paradise star Leah Costa was forced to delete her social media accounts following her bizarre ‘fake engagement’ stunt.
The blonde had decided to wear an engagement ring during media appearances as part of an elaborate ‘hoax’.
In a lengthy Instagram message, she said she’d wanted to ‘educate’ fans about the ‘power of suggestion’ in an era of fake news.
However, the publicity stunt didn’t unravel as she’d hoped, with her followers calling her ‘a deranged attention seeker’ and ‘completely embarrassing’.

Alex and Richie’s emotional showdown
The following year, Alex Nation stunned viewers when she revealed what had led to her separation from Richie Strahan, whom she’d met on The Bachelor in 2016.
In an unedited and uncensored nine-minute conversation, Alex told her ex: ‘I was left alone, to go through something massive that no woman should go through!’
She added: ‘I feel like people would have a very big opinion of a woman, being left alone, to do something that involved both of us.’

While they never confirmed what they were discussing, viewers guessed they were most likely speaking about Alex getting an abortion.

Ciarran’s bed-hopping
This year’s season of Bachelor in Paradise had fans fuming over Ciarran Stott’s womanising behaviour.
His ex-girlfriend Renee Barrett was left in tears as she revealed he’d told her they would reunite on the show – only for her to watch him brazenly pursue other women.

Bachelor in Paradise won’t return for a fourth season on Channel 10 next year, the network has confirmed. However, it’s believed the reality TV spin-off will air in 2022.
‘We love all the excitement, drama and of course love that Bachelor in Paradise brings, but we have decided to rest it in 2021,’ a spokesperson said.
Format: Bachelor in Paradise, based on the U.S. show of the same name, brings together past contestants from seasons of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette for a second chance at love
Bachelor in Paradise, which premiered in 2018, was noticeably absent from Channel 10’s 2021 programming announcement on Thursday.
Based on the American format of the same name, the reality series brings together contestants from past seasons of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette for a second chance at love.
The spin-off doesn’t usually perform as well in the ratings as the main programs, but its figures were particularly disappointing this year.
