‘The people on it are really interesting and not like, I want to say, usual reality-type contestants, if you know what I mean,’ Sonia said.

‘They are a real eclectic group of people and the game has changed a lot. At first, I was struggling to get my head around it.’

According to TV Blackbox, producers scrambled to finish the series after the COVID-19 scare resulted in a 48-hour shutdown in March.

Production company Endemol Shine Australia sped up the filming process so they wouldn’t have to halt shooting again due to the pandemic.

During the shutdown, an emergency cleaning team was drafted in.

The cleaners spent the day driving around the compound in Manly, Sydney, scrubbing each production unit with disinfectant before filming continued.

Meanwhile, things certainly haven’t been smooth sailing for the new season of Big Brother, with producers allegedly ‘disappointed’ with the new cast.

According to TV Blackbox, Endemol Shine has been ‘working overtime’ to make the show more engaging after the cast failed to deliver good material.
