‘We’ve been getting a lot of great feedback from all the people on social media, they really love Jessey and I as a couple and we’re grateful for that because we are where we’ve been together for a while,’ Cherie gushed, adding: ‘And to have other people support us is just such a wonderful feeling.’

One of those supporters is A-lister and social media queen, Chrissy Teigen, who recently posted on Twitter about watching the new series.

‘When I saw Chrissy Teigen’s tweet, I was like, “wow, she acknowledged us”,’ Cherie said. ‘I mean, I’m a big fan of hers.’

For Cherie and Jessey, having their relationship splashed in front of the cameras has been a unique experience, especially for Jessey who barely told anyone that he was participating in the show.

Despite saying he kept things ‘on the DL’ things definitely get personal for the couple in season one as Cherie, who was pregnant with their second child, gave birth while filming.

In episode three, while shes still pregnant, Cherie confronted Jessey point blank about the fact that they aren’t married and asked: ‘Do you think you’re going to propose this year?’

He blew her off at the time, responding: ‘What? You don’t even know what you want for dinner.’

The mom of two then decided to take matters into her own hands and ended up proposing to Jessey herself while in a ballgown and with her own ring.

Shocked! Jessey was caught off guard in episode three when Cherie proposed to him and during their interview with DailyMailTV, Jessey returned the surprise by revealing his own secret proposal plans that had been scuppered when Cherie's mom got sick and passed away

Despite being caught by surprise, he did say yes and during their interview with DailyMailTV, Jessey returned the surprise by revealing his own secret proposal plans to Cherie.

‘Actually, I had everything planned out for a proposal’, Jessey explained. ‘You don’t know this. So I’m going to shock you as you shocked me.’

Jessey went on to say that in 2018 he had hatched a plan to propose but, unfortunately, at the time Cherie’s mom got sick. After her passing, he explained that it’s tradition to wait three years before tying the knot.

‘As far as our tradition goes, is if a close loved one – say if it’s a mother, daughter or son or father – passes away, the tradition is three years before you actually have a marriage,’ Jessey said. Cherie interrupts: ‘Too long!’

Too long, indeed. When Cherie realized her proposal wasn’t coming down the pipeline, she did it herself. Friends and family didn’t even know the pair had gotten engaged until the series aired.

The union will be bittersweet, however, since Chan’s mom can’t be there.

Cherie said: ‘My dream was always to stand with my mom walking down the aisle and just thinking about that makes me really sad, you know?’

‘Even though her mom may not be able to walk down the aisle with her, I still want her to still be able to live and feel the moment,’ Jessey added. ‘Even though she may not be present, she’ll still be there with us when the time comes.’

Non-traditional: It was revealed in season one that Cherie and Jessey deciding to have children before getting married is unique in their culture

New chapter: In the meantime, the couple is getting used to their newly minted status as reality stars after Bling Empire debuted. Everything about the series - the drama, the money, the caviar - is easily spun into reality television gold (including the bling itself)

In season one, a pricey Louis Vuitton necklace became a huge point of contention between two cast members in what is now being nicknamed ‘necklacegate’.

‘It is a stunning piece and I can see why they argued about it,’ Cherie quipped, adding that she didn’t even notice the feud was going down.

‘I think we’re too busy stuffing our face [with] caviar,’ Jessey joked.

Apparently, Bling Empire babies develop high-end taste even in the womb as Cherie craved the expensive delicacy throughout her second pregnancy.

‘I was very pregnant at that moment,’ she said. ‘That night I had discovered he likes caviar, so I ate like probably 50 pieces.’

As for what is next for the couple, aside from marriage, Jessey says he is planning a ‘real’ proposal and there might be a career revival for Cherie in the future.

Formerly a singer, the star gave it up when she became a mom but does have her sights set on returning to a microphone when she is out of ‘mommy mode.’

‘She should,’ Jessey said, in full support of her aspirations.

‘I would totally love to do it, give it another shot, because music is a big part of my life,’ Cherie said.’I would love to get involved again one day.’
