Bobby Brown goes shopping with wife Alicia Etheredge after The Masked Singer

He spoke about the tragedy of losing two of his children during his deeply emotional stint on The Masked Singer, from which he was eliminated late last month.

And Bobby Brown, 52, was seen giving onlookers the thumbs up as he went grocery shopping with his wife Alicia Etheredge in West Hollywood on Thursday.

The My Prerogative hitmaker looked relaxed and happy as he puffed on a cigarette after exiting the couple’s car, before making his way into a local Bristol Farms.

Boston native Bobby stepped out in casually cool style, donning a grey striped sweater, which he teamed with faded jeans and black running shoes.

Rounding out his look with a pair of black-rimmed spectacles, he walked alongside his wife, who cut a glamorous figure in a black off-the-shoulder jumpsuit.

Toting a small brown leather handbag, Alicia complemented her ensemble with a wide-brimmed black hat, sunglasses, large hoop earrings and flat sandals.

Showing her allegiance to the LA Lakers with her choice of customised face mask, she was seen carrying a box of goods to the couple’s vehicle.

Bobby and manager Alicia, who are set to celebrate nine years of marriage next month, have three children together.

Last month, Bobby was unveiled as the Crab on The Masked Singer, as he was eliminated from the show alongside Tamera Mowry, 42, who competed as Seashell.

Bobby delivered an impassioned performance of the Phil Collins classic hit In The Air Tonight during the two-hour episode.

His performance was praised by panellists Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong and Nicole Scherzinger, as well as guest judge Rita Wilson.

The New Edition singer referenced overcoming tragedy while competing on the show and addressed those clues after being unmasked.

‘As everybody knows, I lost my two children. I lost my daughter Bobbi Kristina and I lost my son just recently, Bobby Junior. And they were a part of everything that I do this for. I do this for my kids,’ said Bobby.

‘And I just felt it was essential that I come out here and do it for my little ones… My five-year-old, my four-year-old and my 11-year-old, you know, to let them see that their dad is still, you know, kicking,’ Bobby said.

His daughter Bobbi Kristina died age 22 in 2015, three years after her mother Whitney Houston passed away, while Bobby Jr died last November at age 29.

Nicole wiped tears from her eyes as Bobby spoke about his loss and devotion to family.

Nick told Bobby that his children would surely be proud of performances.

‘Hello. It is daddy,’ Bobby said looking into the camera before singing again with his mask off.

Several days before his elimination from the show, Bobby shared his belief that his late daughter Bobbi Kristina’s ex-fiancé Nick Gordon provided the drugs that lead to both her death and the death of his pop star ex-wife Whitney Houston.

Brown made the explosive claims on this week’s episode of Red Table Talk, stating he believes there was ‘foul play’ with his late ex-wife’s death by drowning in 2012 and daughter Bobbi Kristina’s eerily similar passing at 22 just three-years later.

‘[Gordon] was the only one there for both situations with my ex-wife and my daughter and they both died the exact same way,’ he told the hosts, claiming that Gordon likely gave them the drugs before their fatal bathtub accidents.

‘I think he was more so a provider of party favors to them,’ the former New Edition member explained, then telling the table Gordon ‘definitely’ provided the women with drugs.

Bobbi Kristina was unresponsive, found face-down in a bathtub in her Georgia home on January 31, 2015 and was placed in a medically induced coma after being rushed to North Fulton Hospital in Roswell, Georgia.

She never regained consciousness and died at Peachtree Christian Hospice care in Duluth, Georgia on July 26, 2015, less than six-months later.

A toxicology report found marijuana, alcohol, ‘a cocaine-related substance,’ anti-anxiety medication, and morphine in her system at the time of her accident.

Gordon, who died in January 2020 of a heroin overdose, was deemed liable for Brown’s wrongful death in September 2016 after failing to appear to court.

The $10million suit, filed by Bobbi Kristina’s estate, alleged Gordon gave Brown a ‘toxic cocktail, rendering her unconscious and then put her face down in a tub of cold water causing her to suffer brain damage.’

The suit also accused Gordon of being physically abusive and stealing money from his ex-fiancée, claims which Bobby echoed during his Red Table Talk.

‘[He] basically controlled her until her life was taken,’ the singer said, while adding he didn’t know about the abuse until after his daughter’s death.

Gordon was ordered to pay the family over $36million in November 2016.

Despite being found ‘legally responsible’ in a civil court, Gordon never faced criminal charges but was investigated by authorities ‘for years’ following Brown’s death.

He and Brown had a whirlwind relationship. Though they had been friends since childhood, things didn’t get romantic until after Whitney’s death, getting engaged just eight months after Houston’s passing.

The couple claimed to have tied the knot on January 9th, 2014, but representatives for the family said the marriage was symbolic and not legal, according to Entertainment Tonight.

Many details of Bobbi Kristina’s passing mirrored her mother Whitney, who was found dead in a bathtub of a Beverly Hilton hotel room in 2012 at just 48-years old.

Coroners determined the cause of death to be drowning, and effects of atherosclerotic heart disease and cocaine use.

Gordon was never a known suspect in Houston’s death.
