British billionaire Lord Alan Sugar seen on set of Celebrity Apprentice Australia for the first time

Down to business! British billionaire Lord Alan Sugar is seen on set of Celebrity Apprentice Australia for the first time… after skipping hotel to isolate privately

British billionaire Lord Alan Sugar was seen for the first time on the set of Celebrity Apprentice Australia on Sunday.

The 73-year-old, who recently completed his mandatory 14-day quarantine period with wife Ann Simons, appeared in good spirits as he strolled along with crew members.

His suited and booted appearance comes hot on the heels of news that former Married At First Sight star Martha Kalifatidis has joined the series alongside a whole host of previously announced celebrities.

Lord Sugar cut a dapper figure in a slick blue suit which he teamed with a crisp white shirt and a matching blue tie.

He appeared to be in good company as he enjoyed his downtime before cameras roll in the tense boardroom.

The business magnate will see the likes of Martha, Michelle Bridges, Michael ‘Wippa’ Wipfli and Olivia Vivian battling it out to raise money for their chosen charities.

Lord Sugar’s sighting comes a week after he revealed he had completed the required time in isolation and was ready to begin filming for Celebrity Apprentice Australia.

The Brit and his wife were granted permission by the New South Wales Government to self-isolate at a private venue instead of a quarantine hotel for two weeks, upon their arrival into Australia.

Unlike other travellers who are being forced to pay a $2,800 hotel quarantine bill upon their return to Australia, the business magnate and wife Ann were allowed to head straight to the unknown property.

Just before he completed his quarantine, the business magnate praised Australia for it’s ‘very strict’ approach to the COVID-19 quarantine.

‘I’m on the last day of very, very strict quarantine here,’ Lord Sugar said during an interview with ITV

‘I have to say, with a lot of admiration for the manner in which the Australian authorities deal with a situation, which obviously reflects in the fact that here we are in New South Wales where they get alarmed when there’s more than one case of Coronavirus.’

He added: ‘But it’s very, very strict and tomorrow, I’m out of jail.’

A NSW Police spokesperson told Daily Mail Australia last month that the British lord and his wife had submitted a proposal to quarantine in a private facility.

‘The couple is compliant with the Public Health (COVID-19 Air Transportation Quarantine) Order (No 2) 2020 and did not require an exemption from quarantine requirements.’

‘The couple submitted a proposal to acquire appropriate, independent locations to be nominated as ‘Quarantine Facilities’ as allowed under the Public Health Order.’

The spokesperson said: ‘The couple is required to abide by the same regulations as any other returned traveller.’

Celebrity Apprentice Australia is set to premiere on Channel Nine in 2021.
