Celebrity chef Neil Perry speaks out about his daughter Josephine’s stunning wedding to Michael Clift… and reveals the mouth-watering menu he personally curated for the couple

Celebrity chef Neil Perry has fondly revealed details from his daughter Josephine’s wedding, after she tied the knot to Michael Clift on January 10.

On Saturday, the 63-year-old told The Daily Telegraph that rounds of champagne and cocktails were ‘flying around’ all night at the intimate bash, before revealing the mouth-watering menu he curated to ensure guests enjoyed a feast like no other.

‘The problem with those kids is, jeez they can drink,’ he laughed. ‘The last round of drinks served at midnight was 60 negronis. It was… a big night.’

On the night, ‘hundreds’ of oysters, caviar tarts and prawn cutlets were served to guests.

But the sit-down dinner perhaps offered the most impressive feast available – with the menu featuring ‘coral trout and an aged Cape Grim rib-eye steak with Cafe de Paris butter.’

Josephine was a vision in white on her special day as her father stood proud beside her to give her away.

She oozed elegance in the A-line tea-length bridal number.

The dress was certainly fit for a princess, and her long sleeves had a quirky puff element – almost reminiscent of chef hats.

Despite current state coronavirus restrictions limiting nuptials to a guest-list of no more than 100, the family appeared to opt for a more intimate ceremony of 50.

Her doting mum, Adele, shared a video of Josephine giving a speech at the reception, after changing into a printed pink babydoll minidress.

In her speech, Josephine admitted she was ‘pretty stressed’ while planning the wedding, after having to postpone it because of COVID.

'We're very blessed to have each and every one of you in our lives. We feel very, very lucky and we're very surrounded by love, and we have really amazing people around us,' Josephine said in her wedding speech

‘As you all know, we had to cancel our first wedding in March last year, which was hard, but we made the decision, and we stuck to it and we were strong with it and we felt fine about it, and then we planned this one, and then the restrictions came in,’ she said.

She also gave her father a special mention, and praised him for accommodating all of her requests.

‘I also want to say a massive thank you to my dad as well, who has been such a legend. Everything I’ve thrown at him, he’s just said yes,’ she said.

‘He has not questioned me once, he’s only made very few sarcastic remarks in the planning process. He’s been pretty, pretty good, considering. I love you, thank you, Dad.’
