Celeste Barber reveals some of the worst injuries she’s endured while creating her hilarious celebrity Instagram parodies

Her viral celebrity parody videos have made her a household name.

But fame has come at a cost to Celeste Barber, who has revealed she has been injured badly in the past for the sake of her art.

Speaking on Channel Seven’s Morning Show on Monday, the Australian comedian said that while her entertaining posts have seen her Instagram followers reach more than seven million, they haven’t always go to plan.

‘I suffer for my art’: Celeste Barber has revealed some of the worst injuries she’s endured while creating her hilarious celebrity Instagram parodies

‘I suffer for my art, do not worry!’ she told Melissa Hoyer.

‘I’ve skinned my knees falling at the beach, a surfboard has cracked me on my nose. I suffer for my art.’

Footage rolled of those particular moments as she spoke of them, but Celeste was able to laugh in retrospect.

She said some of most favourite posts to recreate are ones where she is wearing scantily-clad ensembles or dancing.

Last month on Jameela Jamil’s iWeigh podcast, Celeste joked: ‘If Cindy Crawford and Gwyneth Paltrow are okay with it, you can all f**king be okay with it!’

She added that she wanted her posts to start conversations about how different bodies perform the same functions, and that her videos are just lighthearted parodies and not intended to ridicule anyone.

‘When people are like “do you feel mean or anything?” I’m like “no”. I only use photos they post, if it’s a paparazzi photo I won’t use it, unless they have,’ she said on the show.

While many high-profile names have praised Celeste’s parodies, some A-listers are not fans of her work.

‘Some people don’t like it. People are allowed to be sick of being made fun of, I get it. People have blocked and are not into it, no problem. Moving on!’ she told Jameela.

Despite this, Celeste admitted many celebrities are in on the joke, and even submit their own posts to be parodied.
