Channel Nine’s Lego Masters premiere dominates the ratings and BEATS Ten’s MasterChef to become the top entertainment program of the night

Monday night saw Channel Nine lead the ratings, with the Lego Masters premiere becoming the top entertainment program of the night.

The reality series topped the demographics and pulled in 838,000 metro viewers.

The figure puts it ahead of Channel Ten’s MasterChef premiere, which launched to just 670,000, Mumbrella reported.

Despite the win on Monday night, Lego Masters’ ratings was down from its previous season, which launched to 1.239million viewers.

The family-friendly program regularly reached more than a million metro viewers per episode last year.

Season one of the show also managed to draw in an audience of 1.372million back in 2019.

Meanwhile, MasterChef’s launch was also down from previous seasons. 

In 2020, MasterChef: Back To Win premiered to a whopping 1.268million metro viewers.

Last week, Channel 10 moved its premiere date for the cooking show from Tuesday, April 20, to Monday, April 19, to compete directly with Lego Masters.

The network had announced that MasterChef would return on April 20, and even included this date in trailers and promotional material.

But they scrapped this date when Nine confirmed its launch plans for Lego Masters.

The cooking competition is fronted by judges Andy Allen, Jock Zonfrillo and Melissa Leong.
