Channel Seven’s Abbey Gelmi sparks rumours she’s dating AFL star Kane Lambert – after her split from husband Ben Way after a year of marriage


Stunning Channel Seven presenter Abbey Gelmi is reportedly off the market. 

According to The Herald Sun, the 31-year-old TV star is dating AFL player Kane Lambert, 29.

The pair reportedly attended Sam Mac’s book launch in Melbourne together last week and were possibly introduced by Love Island’s Tayla Damir, who is dating Kane’s Richmond teammate Nathan Broad.

Abbey moved to Melbourne earlier this year. 

The dating rumours come after the breakdown of her marriage to Sky Racing presenter Ben Way. 

Abbey and Ben married in late 2019 after three years together and split last year.

Ben popped the question in North Bondi and Abbey shared pictures of the proposal at the time, saying: ‘A thousand times yes.’ 

Last month meanwhile, Abbey landed a role as an ambassador for The Star Championships.  

Speaking to Daily Mail Australia at the time, the 31-year-old not only expressed her excitement in heading to the races amid a challenging time that’s seen COVID-19 impact the event industry, but also whose career at Seven she would like to emulate.

‘Honestly after 2020, I think everyone is excited to be out and about, so the races are the perfect way to celebrate. I’m loving it,’ Abbey said. 

Abbey’s career continues to go from strength to strength, having starred as a co-host on Seven’s House Rules, and most recently alongside renowned Australian sprinter Matt Shirvington on Ultimate Tag.

When asked whose career at Seven she is inspired by or would like to emulate, Abbey said she’s been ‘lucky to work with many amazing people at Seven’.

‘It’s hard to pick one but Hamish McLachlan is someone I really admire,’ she revealed.
