Chrissy Teigen is opening up again about the tragic loss of her stillborn son Jack as his original due date approaches.

The 35-year-old culinary mogul sat down with Ellen DeGeneres on her hit talk show and revealed that losing the baby was a ‘transformative’ experience which she is ‘still coming to terms with.’

During the segment, which airs Monday, Teigen also said that she found a silver lining in the trauma admitting, ‘in a way it really saved me.’

Ellen, 63, commended Chrissy for her bravery in sharing photos from the hospital when she lost Jack. The heart-wrenching black and white images captured the model and her husband, John Legend, in the throes of grief.

‘Looking at those pictures now, it seems like so long ago. And also, of course, everything was such a blur,’ Chrissy revealed to Ellen. ‘Even thinking back to it now, I am still in therapy about it and I’m still coming to terms with it.’

She continued: ‘I have maternity clothes, and there are things that I bought for my eighth month and my ninth month. So it’s just hard because he would’ve been born this week, so you look at those things and you have these constant reminders.’

Teigen had been suffering from pregnancy complications and had been put on bed rest, before she was hospitalized for excessive bleeding from her placenta when she was about five months along.

'It was a really transformative thing for me and in a way it really saved me, because I don't think that I would've discovered therapy and then sobriety and this path of feeling good about myself and feeling like a new person,' Chrissy explained.

She went public with the whole process of loss with her millions of followers in the hopes of pulling back the curtain on something so many couples suffer through in silence.

In additional to being open with her followers, she has also been explaining the situation as best she can to kids Luna, four, and Miles, two.

Teigen pulled from her own experiences of being ‘raised in a household that was very open about loss’ to help guide her through.

‘It’s been so beautiful to see my kids, the way they talk about him,’ Chrissy told Ellen. ‘We’ll be going to the beach or something and they’ll say, “Is baby Jack with us right now? Do you think he’s up in the clouds?” It’s just so beautiful and so sweet.’

Last week, Teigen – who just relaunched her Cravings website – underwent endometriosis surgery.

Chrissy had the surgery to alleviate pelvic pain caused from the disorder where the uterine tissue lining incorrectly grows outside the uterus instead.

Other celebrities, including Lena Dunham, Padma Lakshmi and Julianne Hough, have been open about the pain they have suffered as a result of their endometriosis.
