But on Saturday, Cody Simpson was in great spirits as he enjoyed a house party on the Gold Coast with family and friends.
In a short clip shared to his mother Angie Simpson’s Instagram Stories, the 24-year-old showed off his dance moves alongside his model girlfriend Marloes Stevens.

Cody cut a casual figure in a black and white slogan top, black jeans and boots.
The singer and swimmer appeared in his element as he danced, country-style, to Steps’ 1998 hit, 5, 6, 7, 8.
Marloes, 28, highlighted her slim figure in a black ensemble with white sneakers, and showed off her own dance moves while holding onto a cold beverage.

Cody has been enjoying a break from training, and shared photos to Instagram last Sunday of himself unwinding at a house party with Marloes and their pals.
The sports star was seen packing on the PDA with his model partner, enjoying wine and busting out a few dance moves.

The young star, who made a bold charge at Olympic glory after many years away from the sport, placed last in the men’s 100-metre butterfly final.
After the race, Cody vowed in an Instagram post to ‘come back stronger next year’.

He also stated his intentions to aim for a place at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
‘What an experience racing at my first Australian Olympic Trials. To make a final was our goal this year and with less than a year of training we did just that,’ he wrote.
‘I’ve come so much further than I expected to this year and to be racing the best in the country already is a privilege.’

He also admitted he didn’t think he’d be ‘remotely competitive until at least next year at the earliest’ and had thereby exceeded his own expectations.
