Cody Simpson and his sister Alli leave Swimming Championships with their partners

Cody Simpson competed in the Australian National Championships in Queensland on Saturday.

The singer-turned-athlete has had a less than stellar run at the competition – coming in fifth in the 50 metre heat.

Afterwards, the 24-year-old looked to be in good spirits while leaving the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre alongside his American model girlfriend Marloes Stevens, 28.

Cody was also supported by his singer sister Alli Simpson, 22, who had her real estate agent boyfriend Mitchell Lambert on her arm.

Marloes, wearing a denim jacket and graphic sweater, beamed as she walked alongside Cody, who was rugged up in a white hoodie and black track pants.

Cody managed to shoot a smile at waiting photographers despite earlier appearing discouraged by his result in the pool.

Alli was also taking it all in her stride, smiling widely after watching her brother perform in the pool.

She held onto the arm of her beau, who had worn a blue suit to the sporting venue, while Alli dressed down in blue jeans and a black sweater.

Earlier, Cody’s disappointment was written all over his face after he left the pool following the race.

Prior to flying into Gold Coast, Cody and Marloes, who have been dating since December 2020, completed a mandatory 14-day quarantine in Howard Springs, Darwin.

Earlier this year, Cody revealed to The New York Times  what inspired him to jump back into the pool and compete in the 2024 Paris Olympics.

He explained he decided he still had a shot in the pool after seeing American swimmer Caeleb Dressel – who is five months his junior – beat a record set by Michael Phelps in 2019.

‘I stopped drinking that night and started finding pools the next day,’ Cody, who hails from the Gold Coast, said.
