‘Miley is better’: Cody Simpson gets slammed by trolls after debuting his new relationship with model Marloes Stevens on his 24th birthday
Cody Simpson has well and truly moved on from Miley Cyrus, five months after the longtime friends ended their romance.
The Australian singer, 24, debuted his new relationship with model Marloes Stevens in an Instagram post on Tuesday.
But despite sharing the announcement on his birthday and making it clear he was happy, fans were reluctant to accept the news.

Several trolls were quick to say they preferred it when Cody was dating the Wrecking Ball star.
‘WTF is that. Miley is better,’ one critic wrote in the comments section, while another added: ‘Come back with Miley.’
Several of Cody’s followers began spamming the hashtag #TeamMiley.

‘He and Miley broke up?’ one confused fan asked, which prompted another to reply: ‘I feel like he was dating Miley just yesterday.’
Miley confirmed her split from Cody in August, after less than a year of dating.
The 28-year-old said during an Instagram Live that they were taking time apart to ‘work on’ themselves but remained friends.

Referencing her split from ex-husband Liam Hemsworth in August 2019, Miley said: ‘A year ago, almost to this exact date, the media tried to tell my story for me, and control my narrative, and I’m just not accepting that.
‘So today, it came out that me and my boyfriend have broken up. It was confirmed by a “reliable source” even though no one is reliable in a relationship except the individuals who are participating in it.
‘But right now, two halves can’t make a whole and we’re individually just working on ourselves to become the people that we wanna be, like everybody else at this age.

Cody and Marloes were first romantically linked in November, and confirmed their romance when they spent the holidays together.
