‘I thought I always wanted four and then I had Isla and then not too much later, Covid hit, it did change a lot of things,’ Candice said.

‘And last year I spent a lot of time being a single mum and it’s difficult, hard, you only have so much energy and love to share with everyone,’ she said, with husband David having spent some time away from home due to his sporting commitments.

Candice refreshingly admitted that motherhood can be ‘hard.’

‘I’ve found at times where things do get too much or at times you snap at your child,’ she said.

She went on to say that ‘three is their lucky number’ when it comes to their brood.

‘I think three, I’m really happy. Never say never, but I’d be highly surprised if we were to go again. I think three is our lucky number and we’re pretty happy with that,’ Candice said.

Candice went on to say that her children love playing sport including playing cricket, swimming and gymnastics and said she and David will support them no matter what when they decide what to do when they’re older.

‘If they’re good people, have a kind heart and respect people and have good manners, that’s all that matters,’ Candice said, when asked if she thinks their kids will follow on in their sporting footsteps.

‘No matter what they want to do, we’ll support them,’ she sweetly added.

Candice has been using the ABC Reading Eggs app to help her eldest daughters learn how to read and she said it’s a game changer.

‘It’s a fun and engaging form of learning. I know my girls think they’re playing a game and they don’t realise they’re learning,’ she said.

‘It just makes it easier for the adult as well to teach the child how to learn.’

Candice said it’s helped her immensely when travelling around the world and supporting husband David with his career.

‘We spent some time in England for four months… it was important for me that Ivy continued her school readiness… I had so much stuff to pack. For me, I can’t take 30 books, it’s way too heavy and impractical and one of my friends mentioned it and it honestly saved me,’ she said.
