This is the moment a London black cab driver was forced to pull over just yards from Buckingham Palace by a gang of ‘intimidating’ cyclists doing wheelies along the wrong side of the road.

The driver had just driven past Buckingham Palace before turning left onto Birdcage Walk, when he was confronted by the large group of young cyclists coming towards him last Saturday afternoon.

His dashcam shows riders pulling wheelies while on a collision course with the taxi and only swerving at the very last moment.

While a number of cyclists correctly use the bicycle lane, many others are seen riding illegally on the wrong side of the road performing dangerous stunts, forcing the taxi driver to stop.

The driver, who did not wish to be identified, posted the footage on his Twitter feed.

He told MailOnline: ‘They are intimidating. It is only a matter of time before someone is seriously injured.’

He said many of the cyclists are teenagers while there are several men in their 30s using rollerskates.

He added: ‘Every Saturday, they gather at London Bridge and they start annoying motorists. They tend to come up the Embankment, toward Parliament Square and onto Birdcage Walk.

‘They then ride up through Hyde Park and Oxford Street, Regents Street and Piccadilly. They ride all over the road and are a danger to themselves and other road users.

‘They have tried to reach into the cab. I came around the corner, I stopped. They just ride on you. They do wheelies and they turn at the last minute. They have damaged cabs.

‘One driver got out and was attacked. They are all over the road. They intimidate you. One day they will do it to the wrong person and they’ll be run over.

‘They have hit cars and vans but they ride off.  They will be back on London Bridge at noon tomorrow.’

He added: ‘This is going on all the time. I spoke to the police they just shrugged their shoulders.’

He added: ‘I was number nine on the Richter scale. I was furious because people should be able to go about their business without being intimidated.

‘I am speaking for all London Black Cab drivers because this happens regularly.’

He said he complained to police in Trafalgar Square.

‘The police asked, “What are they doing wrong?” I said I was feeling intimidated and scared. They are stopping us from doing our job.’

Scotland Yard told MailOnline that the incident has not been reported to the police.
