David Foster, 70, dotes on pregnant wife Katharine McPhee, 36, after enjoying a romantic weekend

They are expecting their first child together. 

So David Foster, 70, and pregnant wife Katharine McPhee, 36, ensured they squeezed in some quality time as they enjoyed a weekend away in Santa Barbara. 

Returning from the coastal town on Sunday evening, the couple appeared in good spirits as they unpacked the car. 

Katharine looked effortlessly stylish on the day as she donned a ditsy print mini dress with puffball sleeves.

The expectant mother put her tanned pins on display in the garment, whilst opting for a pair of sensible yet stylish sandals. 

David also looked great as he rocked skinny jeans and vibrant loafers teamed with a blue shirt. 

Last week, Katharine went public with news of her pregnancy with what will be her first child.

She wittily made the reveal on Instagram while showing off a gift box that had been sent to her by April, the Italian alcohol brand.

‘I won’t be drinking this anytime soon, wink, wink. But I’m very excited. Who’s coming over for an Italian inspired cocktail?’ she dished. 

Her clever announcement came after an Us Weekly source dished this August that she and David were ‘definitively trying’ for a baby.

Although she has never been a mother before, she is close with David’s daughters Erin and Sara Foster who are both older than she is.

Katharine was married once before to actor Nick Cokas, who was also significantly older than she at 55.

Meanwhile David has been married and divorced four times before – to B.J. Cook, Rebecca Dyer, Linda Thompson and Yolanda Hadid.
