Declan Donnelly looks glum following reports he and Ant McPartlin stand to lose millions

Declan Donnelly tried to keep a low profile on Tuesday in West London, following reports that he and Ant McPartlin are set to lose millions after a court ruled they won’t get compensation for a holiday home complex they invested in before developers went bust.

The Saturday Night Takeaway duo, both 45, had invested more than two million each for neighbouring properties at The Keys complex on the Algarve in 2015.

And Dec appeared downcast following the recent court ruling as he bundled up in a casual black tracksuit and padded gilet.

He shielded his eyes with classic shades as he opted for practical patterned trainers.

Earlier on Tuesday, it was reported that Ant, Dec and Phillip Schofield stand to lose £8million and won’t get compensation for their ‘dream villa’ complex which was never completed.

Fellow ITV presenter Phillip, 59, paid £1.5million for his holiday home there, with all three celebrities expecting plush villas boasting rooftop pools and their own private bars, after falling in love with the area.

But after the developers accumulated millions in debt, the firm went into administration in 2017, leaving the resort empty, unfinished and the investors out of pocket.

Their hopes of getting their money back after the developers went bust have been knocked after a Portuguese court refused an appeal designed to block the sale of the resort. The Sun reports.

The Keys Resort, near the exclusive at Quinta do Lago golf course, went into liquidation in August 2017 owing £250million to Caixa Geral de Depositos, the Portuguese state-owned bank.

Developers Birchview Imobiliaria, which were declared insolvent in May 2017, claim the bank was wrong to pull its support.

An appeal had been lodged to put a stop to the sale to finance firm SRESPX – who agreed to the purchase if it did not have to pay creditors – but it was refused by Judge Marta Rei.

She said: ‘There is no basis to argue the nullity of the sale process.’

Documents from the court revealed Ant and Dec are owed £3.1million and Phillip Schofield is owed £2million.

Instead creditors will now be forced to take the appeal to the top court.

On a positive note, Ant and Dec received their first dose of the coronavirus vaccine on Friday.

The presenting duo both shared the news with their 4.3 million followers on their joint Instagram account.

Ant uploaded a snap of the moment a nurse administered the vaccine, while Dec posed for a selfie which showed a sticker on his jacket that read: ‘I’ve had my Covid vaccine.’

They captioned the milestone: ‘We’re jabbin’ #vaccinated’, and a needle emoji.

Currently in the UK, everyone over the age of 50, as well as the highly vulnerable, and health and social care workers, have received their first dose.

Individuals aged 42 and over throughout England can now book their vaccines, as of Tuesday.

More than 45 million vaccine doses have so far been given in the UK, with over 11 million of these being second doses.

By the end of July, the government claims to be ‘on track’ to provide a vaccine to all adults in the country.

Dec was hit with more bad news recently as his £5million home was the subject of an attempted burglary by a gang while the TV star was asleep upstairs with his wife and young daughter.

Police rushed to the presenters home in West London on April 6, following a 999 call.

The star and his wife Ali, 43, and their two-year-old daughter Isla were all asleep upstairs in the seven-bedroom home.

The suspects had botched an attempt to rip open the iron gates at the front of the property.

They fled in a car shortly before officers arrived and the family were only aware that the burglars targeted their home when the police told them.

A source told The Sun: ‘Dec and Ali weren’t disturbed. The first they realised anything was amiss was in the morning.’

‘The robbers couldn’t force the gates open and that’s what made them give up, and flee.’

Met Police officers conducted inquiries along the street today and forensic checks were carried out.

The force confirmed that the suspects left the scene prior to police arriving and there was no evidence to suggest they gained access to the house.
