This is the disturbing moment Sadiq Khan’s Labour Deputy Mayor appears to eat his ear wax in front of ‘disgusted’ viewers during a live public meeting.

Jules Pipe, 55, was seen using the end of the hinged arms on his glasses to scoop out the gunk during a video call for a London Assembly meeting on Thursday.

The Deputy Mayor for Planning, Regeneration and Skills, who seemingly forgot he was being filmed, then appeared to sniff the wax before licking it.

Mr Khan is said to have reacted in the footage and ‘looked angry’ before the link became unavailable online.

A 34-year-old from Bethnal Green, East London, who is believed to have witnessed the moment, told The Sun: ‘It was disgusting.

‘Sadiq was on the call and he looked angry when he saw it.’

However, Mr Pipe said: ‘My eczema can result in excruciating itching in my ear.’

The meeting on Thursday was called to address the £800million Bishopsgate Goodsyard planning application for 500 homes, with the London Mayor granting approval for the scheme.

During the meeting, Mr Khan said: ‘The benefits of this development outweigh the negative aspects.’

Meanwhile, Reclaim the Goodyard, a group which opposed the scheme, said in a statement: ‘Sadiq Khan and head of planning Jules Pipe have handed over 10.5 acres of public land to build office blocks and a hotel, achieving just 90 affordable social rented homes.

‘They are closed to all arguments other than housing units but content that the scheme may deliver no more affordable homes than the rejected plans in 2016.

‘It is clear that this Mayor has no concern for the scale of the impact or for the East End and its people and businesses – to the detriment of London as a whole. He has overridden the concerns of our elected councils.’
