Emma Willis guest hosts Loose Women as viewers call for her to be made a permanent presenter 

Emma Willis pleasantly surprised Loose Women viewers when she guest hosted the show on Thursday, with some calling for her to be made a permanent presenter.

The Voice UK host, 44, said it was ‘really nice to be out of the house’ for the day, admitting she immediately said yes when she got the call to present the show.

Greeting viewers, she said: ‘I’m stepping in to look after this lot today. It’s really nice to be out of the house, I feel like I’m on a day trip.’ 

Emma has been in lockdown with her husband Matt and their three children Isabelle, 11, Ace, nine, and Trixie, four, and was most recently on screens for the last series of The Voice. 

The star was joined by Nadia Sawalha, Kaye Adams and Jane Moore, with Jane asking her what filming the reality series without their live audience was like.

Emma replied: ‘It’s very strange, especially in the early stages, everyone feeds off the audience. There’s none of that. 

‘I do find the coaches focus a bit more because there’s less distraction. It’s lovely to be here, thanks for having me. When I got the call I was like, yes! Get me out of the house!’

Emma previously guest hosted the show several years ago and viewers were thrilled to see her back. 

One viewer wrote: ‘Loved @EmmaWillis on Loose Women today. Hope Emma is on more often.

Another added: ‘Emma is such a breath of fresh air. Please keep her as a regular,’ while another said: ‘Emma is absolutely rocking her guest host slot on @LooseWomen’. 

Another fan thought Emma should be a regular host, saying: ‘Please make @EmmaWillis a permanent anchor @LooseWomen’. 

Emma’s appearance comes after she and Matt splashed out on a Grand Designs-style makeover of their £1.7million Hertfordshire mansion – complete with an outdoor swimming pool.   

The couple have been given the go-ahead by planners to build a gym extension with a glazed link to their four-bedroom pad which also boasts a grand entrance hall and four reception rooms.

Now they want to add an outdoor pool as part of a new-look garden that will include a sunken trampoline and oak swing for their children. 

It will also have four parasol roof-form trees in a cube-shaped plant bed, a green oak pergola with a green roof, banked borders and a 6ft-high earth mound at the end of the garden. 

Matt and Emma were previously granted planning permission for a new outbuilding including a gym following demolition of an existing garage.

Two years ago, Voice host Emma gave fans a glimpse of her lavish family home with Instagram snaps including a large kitchen island unit, bright green sofa, leopard print cushions and a white piano.

The pad backs on to open farmland and is just a short drive from Elstree Studios for Big Brother and Celebrity Big Brother host Emma.
