A clumsy dog could have ruined a two-year-old’s Easter egg hunt when he ran full-pelt into the little boy and sent him and his eggs flying. 

But two-year-old Owen was unhurt and thought the incident was ‘hilarious’, according to his father Joshua Nachtigall.

The stunning collision, in Pennysylvania on Easter Sunday, was caught on camera as little Owen ran excitedly towards a pink egg on the grass. 

Suddenly the family’s Chesapeake Bay retriever Bridger hurtles into view and collides with Owen. 

The little boy, who will be three on Saturday, was knocked clean off his feet and all his eggs flew out of his basket as he fell to the ground.

Mr Nachtigall posted the footage on Instagram and it was shared on Twitter where it has had more than 3.5 million views.  

He said Owen is fine and got up to continue finding eggs 30 seconds later. He added: ‘He even thinks the video is hilarious.’ 

The woman in the video, believed to have been fiilmed in Tobyhanna, exclaims: ‘Oh boy, Jesus, Jesus’ as the dog runs head-first into Owen’s side.

One Twitter user said: ‘Looks like a clean tackle to me, fumble by the running back recovered by the opposing team. First down’

Another added: ‘This is what 2020 feels like.’  

On Facebook, Kurt Kruegel said: ‘He may go third in the upcoming virtual NFL draft. That hit was professional.’
