Former Biggest Loser star Fiona Falkiner has revealed her mother’s heartbreaking battle with Alzheimer’s disease. 

The reality star shared a slew of photos with her mother and detailed how she is being moved to a permanent residential aged care home.   

‘Her Alzheimer’s disease having progressed rapidly and forcing our family to make an incredibly tough decisions,’ she said, lovingly referring to her as ‘Mama bear’.

‘It is such a cruel disease, robbing a person of their identity while family helplessly watch on and hold onto precious moments of the mind while they last.’ 

Fiona went on to praise her father who has done an ‘incredible job’ taking care of her. 

‘Dad has done such an incredible job caring for her through to now, often reminding us she is the love of his life and that we marry in sickness and in health.’ 

Fiona, herself a new mother, explained she felt lucky to have spent time with her alongside Hayley and their son, Hunter.

The star only just recently documented new motherhood with her filming her parents meeting Hunter for the first time. 

Fiona recently said in an Instagram post that she is ‘loving motherhood’.

In the selfie, she looked a tad tired as she breastfed her newborn baby boy.

Donning an eye mask in the photo, the buxom blonde admitted she was ‘half asleep’. 

Fiona and Hayley welcomed Hunter into the world on Monday, March 22 – and announced his arrival via a sweet Instagram post.

Fiona announced her pregnancy in September, sharing a photo to Instagram of Hayley cradling her bump. They revealed they were expecting a boy the following month.

The couple became engaged in April 2019 while on holiday in Vanuatu, sharing the sweet moment to Instagram.
