Former child star Jojo, 30, shows off her mature new look as she opens up about shooting to fame at age 13 with the hit ‘Leave (Get Out)’


She shot to fame in 2004 at the tender age of 13 with the smash hit, ‘Leave (Get Out’).

And on Friday, Joanne ‘Jojo’ Levesque showed that she’s all grown up now during an appearance on Australia’s Today Extra. 

The songstress, now 30, looked completely different to her days as a child star.

She now has short blonde crimped hair with dark roots, and wears heavy, dark makeup.

During the interview, Jojo admitted that she developed a huge ego as a teenager after finding overnight fame.

‘I coped with it as best as I could. I mean, my head definitely got big,’ she said.

‘I was pretty excited about myself. I was an only child,’ she continued.

‘I was living my dream and there was a lot of access and a lot of yesses and just things that were beyond my wildest dreams.’

Jojo became an instant star when ‘Leave (Get Out)’ was released in 2004.

The pop-rock track became a worldwide hit, reaching No. 2 in Australia and the UK and No. 1 on the U.S. Pop Songs chart, making her the youngest artist in history to top a Billboard chart.

She returned to the spotlight in 2006 with the hit ‘Too Little Too Late’, which reached No. 3 on the Hot 100 and was certified Gold in Australia.

Unfortunately, at the height of her success, Jojo was forced into a lengthy hiatus due to contractual issues with her record label.

Despite her music career slowing down, she was able to continue working as an actress, appearing in RV with Robin Williams and the Lifetime film True Confessions of a Hollywood Starlet.

She recently appeared on the fifth season of The Masked Singer U.S., where she was runner-up to winner Nick Lachey.

Last month, she released the comeback single Creature of Habit.
