In the third episode of the series, titled Beauty, Courage, Freedom, Geri opened up about her relationship with Beauty and their journey of love, respect and friendship.

The mother-of-two told how when she first met Beauty, he had turned his back on her, with Geri stating he bruised her ego as she felt he didn’t like her.

The Wannabe hitmaker went on to compare the experience to how she felt with her fans, explaining that at times she felt ‘disconnected’ with them, and realised that she had taken her fans ‘for granted.’

After huge global domination with the girls in the 90s, followed by her own successful solo career, the band decided to come together again for a highly-anticipated reunion tour last year.

Speaking about stepping back into her Ginger Spice alter-ego and returning to the stage, she said: ‘I gave my life 100% to music and then when I got to my thirties, I found it so difficult because the teenage bravado had run out and I wasn’t sure where I belong and I found it a really difficult time being thirty.’

She went on to credit her horse for giving her the determination to come back, stating:  ‘When I found Beauty, I got my courage back.’

As she detailed feeling ‘powerful’ and ‘lifted’ when riding her horse, Geri continued: ‘[When I’m out there] I’m no other identity other than just a woman on a horse feeling brave – that’s it. And sometimes it just feels amazing to feel that.’

Getting emotional, the pop star went on to add: ‘Stepping out on stage with the Spice Girls again, I felt, “You know what? It’s alright”.

‘The feeling of wanting to connect, the feeling of freedom and joy was greater than the fear. And I think Beauty taught me that.’

Sadly Beauty passed away shortly after filming after struggling to recover from the anesthetic after an operation.

Geri now rides Beauty’s friend Hank, with the star saying of her beloved horse: ‘I’m grateful for that short time with Beauty – he gave me a lot.’
