Gladys Knight and Alessia Cara are set to perform ahead of next month’s NBA All-Star Game in Atlanta, the NBA said Tuesday.
Knight, 76, and Cara, 24, will perform the American and Canadian national anthems, respectively, ahead of the contest, according to the league.
Cara will perform remotely from Toronto, while Knight will be at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena.

The game will recognize HBCUs in a number of ways, as Knight herself is an alum of Shaw University in Raleigh, North Carolina.
The Clark Atlanta University Philharmonic Society Choir will perform to honor Lift Every Voice and Sing to honor NAACP leader James Weldon Johnson, who is also an alum of the school.
Also involved in the proceedings are the Grambling State University Tiger Marching Band and Florida A&M University Marching 100, with Spelman College and Morehouse College’s step teams set to perform.
Knight sang the national anthem two years ago prior to Super Bowl 53 at Atlanta’s Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Amid scaled down crowds due to the coronavirus pandemic, only select HBCU students and healthcare workers will be on hand, as Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms has asked people not to congregate in the city amid the ongoing virus.
The 70th annual NBA All-Star Game is slated to commence Sunday, March 7 on TNT 5:30 p.m. ET/ 8:30 p.m. ET.
