‘That humour’s just not okay’: Gogglebox Australia stars are left stunned by Prince Philip’s greatest gaffes

The stars of Gogglebox Australia were stunned by some of the late Prince Philip’s public gaffes on Wednesday.

The reality TV stars settled in to watch a tribute to the Duke of Edinburgh, and were treated to some of the recently deceased royal’s greatest clangers.

Isabelle Silberry was particularly taken aback during footage of Philip telling a nurse, ‘The Philippines must be half empty because you’re all here running the NHS.’

The star, who features alongside mother Kerry and grandma Emmie on the show, declared, ‘It’s that classic old person’s humour that’s just not okay.’

Dalton family member Matt added, ‘He said very inappropriate things occasionally.’

Di speculated to husband Mick that the late royal’s tendency to go off-script might in fact be ‘what people liked about him.’

Other controversial statements made by Philip during his long public service tenure included telling the Scottish Women’s Institute in 1961 that ‘British women can’t cook’ and asking a Kenyan woman in 1984, ‘You ARE a woman, aren’t you?’

Prince Philip’s funeral will take place ‘entirely within the grounds of Windsor Castle’.

The Duke of Edinburgh – who died last Friday aged 99 – will be laid to rest at 3pm on Saturday.

And Buckingham Palace have now revealed details of his ceremonial funeral, which are in line with the prince’s personal wishes for it to be a relatively low-key event and will recognise and celebrate his life and decades of service.

An official spokesperson said: ‘In line with Government guidelines and public health measures, there will be no public processions and the Duke’s funeral will take place entirely within the grounds of Windsor Castle.’
