The besotted actor appeared excited to be announcing the baby news, sharing it with his 29k followers.

The Irish child star acted in all eight of the Harry Potter films, beginning in 2001’s Harry Potter And The Philosopher’s Stone.

He saw the series through til the end, when Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 2 brought the films to a close in 2011, amassing a reported net worth of €1.2 million [approx £1 million].

He reportedly blew this money on ‘cars, drink and girls’ amid the height of his fame, as was stated by his mother in 2016 when the family were sued by Devon’s former agent for €286,000.

Agent Neil Brooks was sacked by the family for allegedly failing to handle the bad publicity he received after been photographed smoking on the set of 2004’s Harry Potter And The Goblet Of Fire, aged 13, in his Hogwarts school uniform.

Devon’s mother told the High Court at the trial that Brooks was sacked because ‘there was abuse being heaped on his shoulders all around the world and there was no agent there. Every newspaper, on the internet, photos of a child smoking’.

She said: ‘His job was to shield the child. That’s why he got the sack. He didn’t do it!’

The case also drew attention to claims that Devon made demands on set, such as a driver, a Lexus, an apartment for his entire family to live in and a sound system in his trailer.

The legal matter also disputed an alleged raise in commission imposed by the agent.

It appears Devon has not stuck much to acting since his days battling Voldemort.

He is only credited for an appearing in a 2017 music video and 2018 film Damo & Ivor: The Movie, based on an Irish TV show.

This was panned critically, however, with The Irish Times slamming it for being awash with ‘dire jokes at the expense of working-class wasters’.
