Idris Elba is filming new movie Three Thousand Years of Longing in Sydney. 

And on Saturday, the 48-year-old hit his local grocery store between his production commitments for a sweet treat.

Idris flaunted his muscular chest and bulging biceps in a red Nike singlet as he went for an easy stroll in the harbour city.

The London-born film star bit into an ice cream as he strolled along the leafy suburban street.    

The Luther star carried a recyclable plastic bag with a number of grocery items.

Unable to wait until he was back at his accommodations, Idris opened up his dessert and started eating it on the walk home.

He appeared to embrace the warm summer breeze in a singlet and a pair of black shorts.

However, in contrast to the warmer weather, Idris also wore a vibrant red beanie and black socks with his sandals.

The Thor star is filming his new movie by Mad Max director George Miller in Sydney, which was originally slated to start in March before being delayed by the pandemic.

The Australian director has kept the content of the film close to his chest, saying that it will be a ‘fantasy romance’.  

‘It’s a movie that is very strongly visual, but it’s almost the opposite of Fury Road,’ he told Deadline, referring to the most recent film on the Mad Max franchise.

‘It’s almost all interior and there’s a lot of conversation in it,’ he added.

The film also stars Tilda Swinton and David Collins, but little is known about the plot.
