I’m A Celebrity 2020: Mo Farah dons a Robin Hood costume while Vernon Kay looks unrecognisable as he transforms into Friar Tuck for archery-based Castle Coin Challenge

They’ve been made to do some unusual trials during the last two weeks in the Welsh I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! camp.

But, Mo Farah, 37, donned a Robin Hood costume while Vernon Kay, 46, looked unrecognisable as he transformed into Friar Tuck with the help of a fat suit, for an archery-based Castle Coin Challenge, during Friday’s show.

Using a bow and arrow the athlete and the TV host had to hit the target with the right answer to a series of mathematical question.

If they got the maths puzzle right, a money bag would drop, and needed to collect five money bags to complete the challenge.

Mo donned a Robin Hood outfit and took on the archery task, while Vernon was in a Friar Tuck outfit and asked the questions.

All the TV host had to physically do was retrieve any arrows when Mo missed the target.

Vernon said of the maths equations: ‘There’s nothing between our ears. We’re exhausted to the extreme.’

After completing the challenge, the pair visited Kiosk Cledwyn who had a choice of chocolate coins or mini cheddars on offer. They chose chocolate coins.

Their campmates back at the castle were asked what percentage of Brits claim to have seen a ghost in their lifetime? Was it 11% or 20%.

The camp opted for 11%, which was incorrect and Kiosk Cledgwyn swiftly slammed down the shutter.

Vernon admitted: ‘That’s the worst one yet. Chocolate coins, that would have been awesome,’ while Mo wailed: ‘Chocolate!’ before the duo returned empty handed to tell the camp they had chosen the answer wrong.

Their loss will no doubt have been a bitter blow to Mo, who admitted he was ‘disappointed’ in himself despite bagging an impressive nine stars during his very first solo trial last week.

The Olympic champion  faced his fears in the Fort Locks challenge, in which he was knocked down by fish guts and covered in a number of critters as he attempted to win meals for camp.

But despite his valiant effort, which some viewers compared to 2004 campmate Paul Burrell’s Hell Holes Bushtucker Trial, Mo was unhappy with his result after being ‘scared and terrified’ in trial and wished he’d done better.
