I’m A Celebrity: Unearthed clip shows Giovanna Fletcher took part in Vernon Kay’s Family Fortunes

Giovanna Fletcher and Vernon Kay had already rubbed shoulders in the showbiz world before meeting on this year’s I’m A Celebrity. 

In an unearthed clip, the mummy blogger, 35, appeared alongside her then boyfriend (now husband) McFly’s Tom Fletcher, also 35, for Vernon’s All Star Family Fortunes back in 2013. 

The pair appeared to get along well, with the presenter, 46, asking Giovanna during one round: ‘Can you name a type of vegetable that people grow giant size for competition?’ 

Tom said: ‘Carrot, I have no idea. It’s really hard’, which did appear on the board. 

Vernon then asked Giovanna: ‘All right, Giovanna we’re up and running. What do you think?’

‘Butternut squash’, she said. ‘Well it’s like a pumpkin isn’t it? And it can grow big.’

Vernon said: ‘All right, ok good luck… our survey says… unlucky’. 

Giovanna first came into the spotlight due to dating Tom, who the lead singer of McFly. 

Since then she has forged a career as a mummy blogger and presents the CBeebies series The Baby Club. 

And Vernon and Giovanna’s friendship appears to have gone from strength-to-strength thanks to their time in the jungle. 

On Tuesday’s show, viewers watched the pair win eight stars for camp in the Cart-Astrophy trial. 

Giovanna had to throw barrels worth of fish guts and offal into a helmet on Vernon’s head, which he then had to dispense into various collection boxes.  

‘There’s only one way to describe it and that’s disgusting’ said Vernon. ‘It’s a smell that I’ve never experienced and I don’t want to ever do that again. That was horrible.’

Heading into camp, the Family Fortunes presenter shouted: ‘Tonight we eat like Kings and Queens!’
