Inside Patsy Palmer’s Malibu home: EastEnders star gives a glimpse inside her beachside abode

She moved to the States with her family in 2014 in a bid to live out the American dream.

And EastEnders star Patsy Palmer has given fans a glimpse of her stunning home in Malibu, California which she shares with husband Richard Merkell and their three children, featuring jaw-dropping sea views, sleek furniture and cosy furnishings.

It comes as the 47-year-old actress hosted a live DJ set for her followers in the UK and USA in a bid to keep them entertained amid the coronavirus lockdown.

As she performed her incredible DJ set via Instagram, fans were treated to a glimpse of her Californian lifestyle, which is worlds away from her on-screen character Bianca Jackson and her Walford home.

Judging by her social media, Patsy is loving life away from Albert Square as she lives out her American dream with husband of 20 years Richard and her three youngest kids Fenton, 19, Emilia, 18, and Bertie, nine.

As she rocked the decks donning a cream linen dress and wide-brimmed hat, Patsy gave a peak of her vast outdoor space featuring beautiful views of the sea, manicured lawns and lush green shrubbery.

Further snaps on her Instagram show the family’s lavish outdoor space which includes sleek patio furniture complete with a modern glass-walled fire pit.

And the family no doubt spends plenty of time in the homely area, what with its state-of-the-art barbeque and incredible views.

Inside, Patsy clearly has an eye for design with clean lines, light colours and fresh plants. 

While a snap of Patsy’s daughter Emilia and her boyfriend Chaz showed a glimpse of their open-plan living room, which boasted a huge wall-mounted TV, dining furniture and a modern fireplace.

It’s clear the family are a close-knit one as Patsy has uploaded pictures of her brood cosying up, while also giving a glimpse inside the bedrooms too.

And comfort is the key as the rooms feature cosy throws, quirky tapestries and twinkling fairy lights.

Patsy, who’s bagged herself a plethora of showbiz pals since moving stateside, also often shows her local area, highlighting her love of nature with snaps of beautiful beaches.

The soap star – who played Bianca on EastEnders from 1993 to 1999 and 2008 to 2014 in addition to occasional guest appearances – has never been shy in giving her followers a glimpse inside her home over the years.

Decorating the terrace with delicate fairy lights, the open-plan area complete with a barbecue looked stunning in one snap under the gentle American sunset, while another taken during the day showed off the lush green landscape and crystal clear lakes. 

Meanwhile further snaps of the interior of Patsy’s house – along with a few canine companions – sports an open plan kitchen based around a neutral colour pallette, complete with sleek black worktops and white cupboards.

Other snaps also showcase the red-haired beauty’s love of retro artwork which could be seen in several snaps, including one in the kitchen which advertises Cannes in an art-deco style.

Patsy also proves that despite leaving Britain behind she’s still fan of a rustic-inspired design or two, with her living boasting a beautiful vintage fireplace. 

As the flames spit under the cosy landscape, several snaps show the fireplace’s beautiful design around the festive season, with personalised stockings placed alongside a giant wreath. 

And Patsy also proved that she can still hearken back to her English roots, with a Union Jack seen to take pride and place on the armchair. 

The living room itself also boasts comfy corner sofas and sleek marble tables with daughter Emilia and youngest Bertie seen to be enjoying some much-needed downtime in the room.

Built around a neutral colour palette, the lounge sports a simple white wood-wall design and minimalist mirrors adding even more light an already open-plan home. 

And never one to shy away from a festive occasion, the home also boasts a stunning Christmas tree with a height of eight feet, covered with delicate ribbon tinsels and fairy lights.

Patsy moved to America with husband of 20 years Richard in 2014 alongside her three youngest children Fenton, Emilia and Bertie, while her 26-year-old son Charlie – who Patsy had during her relationship with boxer Alfie Rothwell – stayed in the UK to pursue a career in acting.

The red-haired beauty recently admitted she did not miss her acting career years after saying goodbye to the character of Bianca, in a recent chat with Lorraine Kelly.

She said: ‘It was a little bit strange getting used to the idea you’re not ‘on show’ everywhere you walk about, you don’t have to be ready to speak to someone about EastEnders.

‘You can go out and just completely be yourself, it’s kind of weird, it is something you probably need therapy for, though I haven’t gone down that route since I’ve been here but everyone does.’
