Leto appeared on The Late Late Show With James Corden on Tuesday night as he explained: ‘You know, I found out that it’s been missing for, like three years, and I didn’t know that.

‘I don’t think anyone wanted to tell me. But I had moved houses in L.A. and then when we moved, it somehow just magically kind of disappeared.’

The 30 Seconds To Mars frontman added that it could be somewhere in that new home but everyone had been looking ‘high and low’ for it to no success.

He was asked about the jarring experience during an appearance Monday on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon .

‘The idea is that you go away. You get rid of your phone, you get rid of distractions, you get rid of everything, and you just meditate,’ Jared said.

‘And when I went away, there were about 150 cases. And just in that short amount of time, when I came out there was a shutdown, a state of emergency, and the whole world had changed. But when we were in there, they didn’t tell us. We didn’t have our phones, there was no talking, no eye contact, …no TV,’ he added.

Jared said the teachers made a decision to not disturb the participants.

‘I didn’t turn on my phone until I went back to L.A. So I drove the whole way trying to be peaceful and zen, keep the feeling going. I got back and I was kind of shocked. It was like Rip Van Winkle,’ Jared said.

Jimmy said it sounded like something out of ‘The Twilight Zone’ and Jared noted that he left the retreat with a ‘great tool to deal with stress and things in life’.

See no evil: Jared explained in March that he hadn't had a phone or technology during his retreat, so he didn't know about the coronavirus or the wave of self-quarantining across the US and other countries

‘I don’t think anything can quite prepare any of us to what we all went through in the beginning,’ Jared said.

He added: ‘It was like coming out to the zombie apocalypse’.

The Little Things – also starring Denzel Washington and Rami Malek – will be released by Warner Bros Pictures in theaters Friday and also will be available on HBO Max for a month.
