Jennifer Garner changes mind on THAT 2016 quote about Ben Affleck amid separation

Jennifer Garner has changed her mind on one of her famous quotes from the early days of her separation from Ben Affleck.

The 48-year-old actress told Vanity Fair in 2016 that ‘I lost the dream of dancing with my husband at my daughter’s wedding.’

However in a new Hollywood Reporter interview she smiled and said: ‘When our kids get married, we’ll dance, I know that now.’

Jennifer, who shares two daughters and a son with Ben, said: ‘We’ll boogaloo and have a great time. I don’t worry about that anymore.’

The onetime couple got tied the knot in 2005 and over the course of their marriage welcomed Violet, 15, Seraphina, 12, and Samuel, nine.

After they separated in 2015 they sustained a co-parenting relationship that was so friendly that it led to frequent reunion rumors.

On top of their amicable rapport they also took until 2017 to file for divorce leading to occasional conjecture that they would throw out the proceedings altogether.

When they first separated in 2015 Ben was amid a swirl of reports about his affair with the family’s nanny Christine Ouzounian.

However Jennifer clarified to Vanity Fair in that 2016 interview: ‘Let me just tell you something. We had been separated for months before I ever heard about the nanny.’

The 13 Going On 30 actress continued: ‘She had nothing to do with our decision to divorce. She was not a part of the equation. Bad judgment? Yes. It’s not great for your kids for [a nanny] to disappear from their lives.’

Before the coronavirus lockdowns swept the country Ben and Jen were frequently seen going to church together of a Sunday with their children.

Jennifer also supported Ben through the rough times, driving him to rehab after reportedly staging an intervention when he relapsed into alcoholism in 2018.

Around that time she also called Gavin O’Connor, who was about to direct Ben in a basketball movie called The Way Back, and persuaded him to keep the project alive.

‘The studio certainly thought the movie was over,’ Gavin told 34th Street, a student magazine at his alma mater the University Of Pennsylvania.

‘His ex–wife Jennifer Garner called me up, and told me that when he went to rehab, he took a basketball with him,’ Gavin revealed.

‘She said: “Gavin, he’s asking you, please don’t pull the plug on the movie, he really wants to do this,”‘ said the director, whose film also dealt with addiction.

Meanwhile he has had long-term relationships with Saturday Night Live producer Lindsay Shookus and his much younger Deep Water co-star Ana De Armas.

Shortly before his latest rehab stint he was also seen running around with Playboy model Shauna Sexton whom he took on dates to Nobu and Jack-In-The-Box.
