Jessica Alba gets into the autumn spirit and bakes tasty pumpkin spice cookies with her mother

Jessica Alba is embracing the autumn season by baking up some tasty sweet treats, with the help of her mother, Cathy Alba.

The pair teamed-up and gave step-by step directions on how to make pumpkin spice fall cookies for a video that she posted on her YouTube channel.

‘Feeling all the fall vibes over here,’ the Honey actress and entrepreneur wrote in the caption of her Instagram post.

She went on to reveal how the cookies were inspired by the design on the Limited Edition Fall Diaper from The Honest Company, Alba’s consumer products company she co-founded in 2011.

Tasty treats: Jessica Alba and her mother Cathy Alba got into the autumn spirit for a baking video she posted on her YouTube channel

The Alba ladies stood side-by-side behind a counter, presumably in one their kitchens for the video.

‘We are celebrating fall. Thank goodness it’s getting a little bit cooler and the leaves are changing,’ Jessica began while dressed the autumn part in a white and brown-patterned, spaghetti-strap dress.

The number was cinched-in at the waist which highlighted her fabulously lean figure.

Wanting to spice things up in the style department, the Fantastic Four star had her normally brown tresses highlighted with a tan headdress that was positioned a few inches past her hairline.

With all the ingredients in front of them on the counter, Jessica encouraged fans and followers to bake the fall cookies with ‘your kids’, ‘your mom’ and ‘your friends’, and that it only takes three main ingredients.

Right off the top, Jessica stumbled with her directions when she stated that the Foodstirs cookie mix goes into a bowl first.

Her mother interrupted and said: ‘You first do the egg and the butter and you soften it first,’ which stumped her daughter.

‘Oh, I’m not really good at baking so I kind of just dump everything in,’ Jessica joked as she looked straight into the camera with a funny look on her face.

From there, Jessica began to read off the directions from the cookie mix box that started by combining six tablespoons of butter and egg. Sensing her mom had more of grasp of the process, she asked her why she didn’t bake very much during her childhood.

‘I baked all the time,’ Cathy responded, which set off a back-and-forth over how much she actually baked in years past.

‘That was my thing — cakes,’ she declared to Jessica, who quickly shot back, ‘You’re not a baker.’

After her mom confessed how her baking didn’t look real pretty but tasted good, Jessica confessed: ‘I don’t ever remember you being a baker but you loved sweets.’

At this point the ladies discussed what adult beverages go best with pumpkin spice cookies. Cathy suggested ‘coffee and Baileys, a little cinnamon and nutmeg, or pumpkin spice,’ which got a nod pf approval from Jessica.

The pair would go on to mix all the ingredients, flatten the dough on cutting boards with flour, cut them individually into pumpkin designs and placed into the over at 350 degrees for 10 minutes.

While the cookies were baking in the over, the Albas declared it to be ‘adult beverage time.’

‘Cheers mom,’ Jessica said as they tipped each other’s glass of white wine.

‘Cheers to mothers and daughters spending a little time together; I love you honey,’ Cathy said and then proceeded to give her daughter a kiss on the cheek.

While sipping on their wine, the ladies began to prepare the cream cheese flavored frosting by the Miss Jones Baking Company, as Jessica snacked on some peanut butter chips.

They then dove into the final phase and applied the frosting on the cookies in leaf, pumpkin and tree designs.

‘Alright guys I hope you like this video. We are finished,’ Jessica declared.

‘Here are our fall cookies inspired by this super, sweet, fall diaper; limited edition diaper. These are very yummy, tasty cookies.’

She ended by asking fans and followers to let her know what other kind of video they’d like her and her mother to do.

‘Peace, love and happy holidays.’
