JoJo Siwa spoke about her ‘amazing’ girlfriend Kylie Prew while serving as a presenter during the 32nd Annual GLAAD Media Awards, which took place on Thursday.
At the beginning of her presentation, the 17-year-old YouTube personality expressed her enthusiasm for being allowed to present at the ceremony and noted that she had recently opened up about her sexuality.
The singer exclaimed, ‘I’m so excited to be here at the GLAAD Media Awards. I recently just came out as a part of the LGBTQ community.’

Siwa went on to describe her relationship with her partner, Kylie Prew, aged 18, and remarked that she was grateful to have met her significant other.
‘I have the best, most amazing, wonderful girlfriend in the entire world who makes me so, so, so happy, and that is all that matters,’ she said.
The social media personality commented on her newfound position of influence among young people who have questions about their sexuality and how she was proud to serve as a positive influence.
‘I think it’s really cool that kids all around the world who look up to me can now see that loving who you want to love is totally awesome,’ she said.

Setting an example: The YouTube personality also spoke about her position of influence with young people and commented that she was happy to serve as a positive example for them
Siwa went on to describe her attitude about how to build relationships with other people, regardless of outside opinions.
‘If you want to fall in love with a girl, if you want to fall in love with a boy, if you want to fall with somebody who is a they, them or who is non-binary, that is incredible,’ she stated.
The YouTube personality concluded by proclaiming that she was grateful for how times have changed and how she was optimistic about the future.
She expressed, ‘Love is awesome. You can be in love with whoever you want to be in love with, and it should be celebrated. And amazingly, now today in the world, it is.’
Siwa went on to present the Outstanding Children’s Programming Award, which was given to The Not-Too-Late Show With Elmo, who readily accepted the distinction.

During a cover story for People, the social media personality opened up about how Prew did not pay attention to outside opinions about their relationship and why she was grateful to have her around.
‘She never cares what the internet said about us…It’s nice to have somebody in my life like that,’ Siwa remarked.
The singer also noted that, although she was still learning about herself, she was perfectly happy with simply being in a relationship with her girlfriend.
‘I still don’t know what I am. It’s like, I want to figure it out. And I have this joke. Her name is Kylie. And so I say that I’m Ky-sexual,’ she said.
‘My thing is, I don’t want people to watch my videos or buy my merchandise if they aren’t going to support not only me, but the LGBTQ community,’ the singer added.
