Jon Hamm cuts a sporty look as he kicks off the weekend with a grocery run

Jon Hamm recently had the pleasure of viewing his highly-anticipated blockbuster Top Gun: Maverick from the safety of a private theater.

And the two-time Golden Globe winner is keeping his feet planted firmly on the ground as he awaits its premiere.

He cut a sporty look Friday in a black jacket and orange shorts, as he kicked off his weekend with a grocery run in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles.

The 49-year-old finished the look with a beige baseball cap, silver aviators and white sneakers, while taking precautions against COVID-19 in a white face mask.

He plays Vice Admiral Cyclone in the upcoming Top Gun sequel, which has been postponed to a July 2, 2021 premiere, following its fair share of delays.

Hamm recently detailed seeing a screening of the movie over the summer, taking precautions in a socially-distanced theater.

He told St Louis local news outlet KSDK: ‘It’s going to leave a lot of people with their minds blown I think. I got the good fortune to see it over the summertime.

He said on Rolling Stone’s podcast Too Long, Didn’t Watch: ‘I think it was me and Harry Hamlin. I remember walking in and being like, “Is that Peter Gallagher? Why am I here?” I love Peter Gallagher, but I was just like, “Dang!”‘

Hamm, who was around 31 or 32 at the time, revealed that he was often typecast older because of his mature look: ‘I never looked young enough to be in high school, even when I first got out here and I was 25, so I missed out on all of the Dawson’s Creek and all the early, early WB shows.’
