Karl Stefanovic and Ally Langdon star in Men In Black themed Today show promo – as they promise to make 2021 their best year ever

They began co-hosting the Today show together as a dynamic duo in January 2020.

And following a trying year amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Karl Stefanovic and Allison Langdon have promised that 2021 will be their ‘best year ever’ in a brand new advert released by Channel Nine.

Karl, 46, and Allison, 41, suited up for the Men In Black-themed footage, where they star as ‘Agent K and Agent A’.

Suited and booted: Karl Stefanovi, 46, and Allison Langdon, 41, have promised that 2021 will be the Today show’s ‘best year ever’ in a new Men In Black themed promo released by Channel Nine

‘Our mission: Make 2021 the greatest year ever,’ Allison said, as the duo dramatically strode through Channel Nine’s offices.

They were swiftly greeted by news and sports presenter Alex Cullen and entertainment reporter Brooke Boney, who joked that weather presenter Tim Davies was ‘MIA’ in ‘QLD’ for Christmas.

As they stepped into an elevator, Karl continued: ‘It’s gonna be a blockbuster year alright.’

Allison added: ‘Yep, every Australian waking up with the best breakfast news, bar none.’

‘Nobody does it better. It’s going to be our best year ever,’ Karl added, before his co-host insisted: ‘But there is one more thing – we have to have to erase all memory of 2020.’

Ally then held up what looked to be the famous ‘memory eraser’ used in the Men In Black franchise to Karl’s forehead – but the instrument was soon revealed to be a temperature tester for COVID-19.

‘36.1’ Allison said through a smile.

‘Not as hot as I thought I was!’ Karl replied, before giving a cheeky wink to the camera.

The reporter, 40, who joined Channel Nine at the start of 2020 after leaving Channel Seven, looked back at events they covered, including the Black Summer Bushfires, the pandemic and Black Lives Matters protests.

‘This was a team being forged almost instantly through devastating news events that just kept coming,’ he wrote.

‘I think we can all agree, it has been a year like no other that has taught us to love, live and laugh as much as we possibly can.

‘Hug those loved ones tight, enjoy the holidays and we cannot wait to see you in an even bigger, and we hope, brighter 2021,’ he added.
