Kate and Rio Ferdinand take their baby son Cree to see snow for the first time

Kate and Rio Ferdinand enjoyed a family day out on Sunday as they made the most of the snow covering much of the UK.

The footballer, 42, and the former TOWIE star, 29, took their baby son Cree out to see snowflakes for the first time on a winter walk.

Rio uploaded a heartwarming clip to Instagram as the couple were also joined by his children Lorenz, 14, Tate, 12, and Tia, nine, and their dogs.

The sports star walked behind his family as he filmed the stroll, saying: ‘It’s cold outside guys, minus three I think.’

Rio also shared a photo of the couple’s huge garden to his Instagram Stories and wrote: ‘I love snow’.

Meanwhile, Kate shared a quick clip of snow falling in their garden along with snaps of their pooches to her account.

It comes after Kate recently admitted she had been struggling in lockdown as she shared a sweet note from stepdaughter Tia asking her to stop crying last Thursday.

The TV star revealed thinking about what she’s grateful for has helped her get through the difficult days in another candid post on Monday.

Sharing a selection of images, including an adorable snap of her newborn son Cree’s hands, Kate explained that she’s thankful for her ‘health, friends, family and fans’.

The new mum penned: ‘Thank you for all of your amazing messages & support. I am grateful for you all ⭐️

‘Lots of you have been feeling similar in lockdown, although not every day is amazing at the moment, it really has helped me the last few days to focus on the things I am grateful for.’

The star went on to include her health, family, friends, dogs and supportive fans in the list of things she’s thankful for.

Kate also that ‘being able to walk & get fresh air- something I’ve taken for granted until I couldn’t the last few weeks’, was another positive thing to cherish.

She continued the list with: ‘All of the amazing memories I have been able to make with my family over the last few years.

‘My emotions, although I am so emotional, it helps me to be loving and the person I am.

‘I could add so many more photos, but these are some of my favourites. What are you guys grateful for?’

It comes after Kate showed off a sweet handwritten note from her stepdaughter Tia, nine, asking her to stop crying after hearing her sob behind a door.

The former TOWIE star welcomed Cree with Rio last month, and admitted her ’emotions are at an all time high’ in an Instagram post on Thursday.

Kate said she hoped Cree’s screams would ‘drown out the sound of my tears’, and was overwhelmed when she found a message which read: ‘Pls stop crying. I love u’ (sic) had been slipped through the door.

Kate wrote: ‘Just when I thought the screaming baby would drown out the sound of my tears, I get this through the door as if I wasn’t emotional enough.

‘To new mums, mums, step mums … and anyone who is struggling in lockdown, I feel you! Sometimes we just need to sneak in our room and have a little cry … even then, because of lockdown, we may have lots of little ears listening in.

‘A mix of the new baby, lockdown, kids at home and lack of sleep have well and truly got me. I feel like I’m a robot going through the same routine daily, feed baby, wind baby, wait for him to wake and repeat.’

The reality star said while some times she is filled with happiness and love, she is ‘too often feeling low, like I can’t escape’.

She continued: I’m not sure if this is the after effects of a emergency c section, or the stress of another lockdown – maybe it’s even a mix of both.

‘I feel so lucky to have just welcomed a beautiful baby boy into the world, some people never get to experience this amazing feeling, but my emotions and anxiety are at an all time high … all my coping mechanisms I’ve learnt over the years to keep my anxiety at bay I can’t utilise. A workout, a long walk, some alone time.

‘Everything passes, and I know too this soon shall pass, I’m just in it right now.’

Kate said she felt it was her duty ‘to show you the real not so perfect me’, to help others who are feeling the same.

Earlier this month, the reality star admitted that she has been feeling exhausted since her son Cree was born by emergency caesarean just before Christmas.

She wrote: ‘After having an emergency c section, and a bit of a traumatic birth I’ve been completely wiped out.

‘The happiness has been overwhelming but so have the tears and emotions, I’ve felt like I can’t do what I’m meant to be doing with Cree as I haven’t been able to change or feed him consistently which has had me feeling all types of guilt, for Cree, Rio & that I can’t be doing what I normally do for the kids.

‘It’s a whirlwind I just wasn’t expecting … but at the same time the most perfect whirlwind.’

Kate embarked on a relationship with Rio in 2017 and stepped back from TOWIE to become a mother figure for the trio, after his first wife Rebecca passed away in 2015.

Rio then proposed to Kate in November 2018 after almost two years of dating. She accepted his romantic rooftop proposal during a family holiday to Abu Dhabi.

He popped the question in front of his three children after the former footballer was given the blessing of his late wife Rebecca to find love again.

The duo tied the knot less than a year later with a romantic ceremony taking place in September 2019 at the luxurious D Maris Bay hotel in Turkey.
