Kate Hudson brings the glow as she leads stars beaming into the virtual Golden Globe Awards pre-show

The best in film and television will be recognized during the first-ever bicoastal Golden Globe Awards ceremony on Sunday evening in Hollywood.

But prior to the big show, some of the night’s nominees, including Kate Hudson and Elle Fanning, took part in a virtual pre-show presented by the Hollywood Foreign Press on Twitter.

Hudson, who earned a nod for her leading role in Sia’s controversial film Music, sported a glowing tan as she spoke to the pre-show hosts about the project.

The 41-year-old actress, appearing from her living room, had on a bright pink bustier top that exposed her toned shoulders and ample chest.

Kate wore her golden blonde hair parted down the middle and let it flow down her back and chest in loose tendrils.

Hanging from her ears were a pair of stylish gold chainlink earrings that only enhanced her glowing appearance.

As for her makeup, Hudson accentuated her naturally beautiful features with a select amount of complexion enhancing products and a bit of mauve lip gloss.

Specifically is nominated in the Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture, Comedy or Musical category, where she is set to go up against the likes of Rosamund Pike and Anya-Taylor Joy.

Elle Fanning also beamed into the virtual pre-show, showcasing her infectious smile.

Jared Leto’s riveting role as a devious, suspected serial killer in The Little Things has pitted him against the likes of Bill Murray and Sacha Baron Cohen in the Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture category. 

Although the award went to Judas and the Black Messiah’s Daniel Kaluuya, the 49-year-old could not help but express his gratitude for being nominated for his portrayal.

Carey Mulligan kept casual for her pre-show appearance, as she appeared during the stream in a stylish button up denim top.

The 35-year-old actress, who is a frontrunner in the Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture, Drama category, discussed her role in the Margot Robbie-produced film Promising Young Woman.

Prior to taking home the Best Supporting Actor trophy for his role in Judas and the Black Messiah, Daneil Kaluuya dropped into the pre-show to voice his excitement over his nomination.

Other nominees, such as Hamilton’s Leslie Odom, Jr. and Normal People star Daisy Edgar-Jones, made sure to give their two cents on the ceremony and the projects that changed their careers during the pre-show.

Leslie was nominated in the Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture category, while Daisy Edgar-Jones was nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Limited Series, Anthology or TV Movie.

This year’s ceremony, which usually takes place in early January, was pushed back to February 28 as Hollywood continues to adjust to the coronavirus pandemic and new safety guidelines.  

Amy Poehler and Tina Fey return to host for the fourth time. The comedy duo did the honors in 2013, 2014 and 2015. 

It is the first ever awards show to be broadcast from two separate coasts. 

Fey, 50, is broadcasting from atop New York City’s Rockefeller Center in the Rainbow Room and Poehler, 49, in Los Angeles at the Beverly Hilton Hotel, where the ceremony is usually held annually.

Nominees will be tuning into the ceremony remotely but presenters have been asked to appear in person.

The impressive list of presenters this year includes; Awkwafina, Cynthia Erivo, Annie Mumolo, Joaquin Phoenix, Kristen Wiig and Renee Zellweger, Kevin Bacon, Sterling K. Brown, Michael Douglas, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Margot Robbie, Tiffany Haddish, Anthony Anderson, Kate Hudson and Kenan Thompson.

Satchel and Jackson Lee, children of three-time Golden Globe nominated filmmaker Spike Lee and producer/philanthropist Tonya Lewis Lee, are serving as the 2021 Golden Globe Ambassadors.

Jane Fonda, 83, is receiving the Cecil B. DeMille Award, an accolade for film. The acting icon has previously won Golden Globes for her roles in Klute, Julia and Coming Home.

Norman Lear will be honored with the Carol Burnett Award, a counterpart to the DeMille Award that focuses on life achievement in television. The writer, director and producer is a six-time Golden Globe winner.
