Kate Langbroek reveals her genius garlic hack every home cook should be using in their kitchen

Radio and TV presenter Kate Langbroek has shared her genius cooking hack.

The 55-year-old comedian revealed on Wednesday how she makes sure her fingers never smell after chopping garlic.

She was speaking on The Kyle and Jackie O Show when host Jackie ‘O’ Henderson said: ‘You know a really good hack to not get the garlic smell stuck on your fingers.’

‘This is the simplest thing, but you know when you’ve been cooking with garlic, it’s often he smell is ingrained within your nails, like its impregnated you,’ she began.

‘Even when you go to sleep that night, if you put your hand on your face or your pillow, there’s this terrible smell.’

She proceeded to explain the quick and easy hack, which anyone can do at home.

Kate said she runs her fingers ‘up and down the blade’ of a blunt stainless steel knife – ideally a butter knife – while it’s under a stream of cold water.

This method apparently ‘gets rid of the smell’ of onions better than soap.

‘It works with onion as well,’ she added.

Kate recently returned to Australia after a two-year extended holiday in Puglia, Italy, with her family.

She is now a host on KIIS FM’s 3pm Pick-Up, alongside Katie ‘Monty’ Dimond and Yumi Stynes.

While living overseas, She regularly shared her cooking and eating experiences.

In November, Kate revealed she was heading back home and was announced as the replacement for Rebecca Judd on The 3pm Pick-Up.
