Katie Holmes looked in need of some solace as she stepped out for a solo evening stroll on Friday.
The 42-year-old actress seemed to be taking in the nighttime air to clear her head as she walked through the empty streets of NYC.
Bundled in a grey checkered overcoat while sporting a pair of Gucci loafers, the Dawson’s Creek darling looked stylish for the late night outing.

Perhaps hoping to go incognito, Holmes threw an oversized tan hat on her head as she strolled with her hands in her pockets.
Adding a splash of color to the look she wore salmon colored socks underneath her blue jeans.
Looking to unwind while being alone with her thoughts, Katie was seen free of belongings for the walk.

In recent weeks she has been attached at the hip to boyfriend of five months Emilio Vitolo Jr., but he was nowhere to be seen as the weekend kicked off.
Perhaps tending to his Italian joint Emilio’s Ballato during the Friday evening rush, Katie was left to her own devices.
However she showed her support for her man on Friday morning as she wore a shirt he painted that read ‘it was all a dream,’ as she softly smiled while tagging him in the photo.
Recently it was revealed that the romance between the pair is continuing to burn strong, as the 33-year-old chef has gotten the seal of approval from Holmes’ close circle.

A source told ET on Tuesday that Katie’s friends are ‘obsessed with him,’ as they called him ‘the most charismatic man she’s ever been with.’
Loving him for more than his ‘funny and confident’ ways, the insider said her friends love that he is ‘so attentive and affectionate towards Katie.’
Being described as the type of guy that ‘gets along with everyone,’ he has also won over Holmes’ 14-year-old daughter Suri, who he reportedly ‘adores.’
Though it had been said that people around Holmes were initially ‘concerned’ things were moving too quickly between the couple, it seems that after getting to know Vitolo’s character, everyone feels more at ease.

Calling her ‘the most amazing, kindest, beautiful person,’ he gushed, ‘Everytime I see your face it makes me smile,’ adding, ‘I love you!!’
