Katie Price ‘relieved’ as son Harvey, 18, receives his second COVID vaccine with ‘no ill effects’

Katie Price is reportedly ‘relieved’ after her son Harvey, 18, received his second dose of the coronavirus vaccine with ‘no ill effects’.

The teen was rushed to hospital in February after his first dose of the Oxford/AstraZeneca vaccine caused his temperature to sky-rocket, but has allegedly suffered little reaction to his second dose.

It comes as it was reported that after being vaccinated herself on Friday, Katie and her boyfriend Carl Woods have fallen ill after suffering a ‘bad reaction’ to the jab.

After being given his second dose last week, Harvey, who is on the autism spectrum and was born with disabilities including partial blindness, ADHD and Prader-Willi syndrome, is now fully vaccinated against the virus.

The Sun revealed that Harvey has now had his second jab, with an insider saying: ‘Katie’s very worried – she always fears the worst when it comes to Harvey’s health but is trying to remain calm…

‘Like any mum would be, she’s beside herself with worry. It’s dangerous as Harvey hasn’t got cortisol in his body to fight like us.’

It has now also been reported that Katie and Carl have fallen ill after getting their first jab, struggling with pain, a fever and nausea.

A source told The Sun: ‘They are delighted that Harvey is fine this time but they both feel really terrible with a fever, nausea and fatigue.

‘Both of them have had really achy arms and Katie is still struggling with the pain now.

‘She is feeling unwell at the moment and constantly sick but can’t wait for the side effects to subside.’

Katie’s representative confirmed to the publication that she was unwell. MailOnline has contacted her representatives for further comment.

Former glamour model Katie received her first Covid vaccine on Friday as she admitted that she ‘hates needles’. She took to Instagram to document the moment as she proudly declared afterwards: ‘I did it!’

Katie captioned the short clip with: ‘Finally had my 1st covid and I hate needles but it actually was over before I could start playing up.’

Harvey was rushed to hospital in February following a bad reaction to the COVID-19 vaccine. Katie took to Instagram at the time with Harvey by her side as she revealed he suffered a reaction after taking the first of his Oxford/AstraZeneca jabs.

The mother-of-five revealed that once she got her eldest son home from the hospital, he was back ‘on form’, requesting chicken Kiev and chips at 4am.

‘Harvey is all good’, she told her army of followers. ‘Thank you for all your kind messages and best wishes for Harvey he is home, safe and well.’

She then went on to discuss Harvey’s reaction to the vaccine, saying: ‘So because of Harvey’s complex needs and the complex medication that he’s on he had his COVID [vaccine], the Oxford one, and had just as reaction…

‘The reaction was a really, really high temperature, 39.9 [degrees]. And obviously with Harvey, I have to keep a really keen eye and I couldn’t get his temperature down…

‘So I phoned Great Ormond Street and they told me to go to the nearest A&E that’s what we did. Did all your bloods, did an X-ray, blood, ECG, everything…

‘Everything was fine, said it was just a reaction from COVID but today, he’s absolutely on form, aren’t you?…

‘And the doctors and nurses were fantastic so I can’t wait to still have my COVID injection and I still recommend everyone else have it and Harvey is safe and well.’

It was later in the video that Katie went on to reveal that Harvey was so much back to his old self that he had a culinary request in the early hours of the morning.

After prompting him to share that he was in hospital the night before, she said: ‘What did you ask for at four o’clock this morning? Chicken Kiev and chips!’

Katie also encouraged others to still go ahead with getting the Covid vaccine, saying that despite Harvey’s reaction it’s still so important for high risk people to have it.

She told The Sun: ‘I don’t want anyone worrying about him as he’s fine now at home eating carrot cake. Despite Harvey’s reaction, he is one of a kind, the Covid jab is so important especially for those in high risk categories.

‘I am so much happier in the knowledge Harvey is safer now he has had his.’

Harvey also sweetly thanked his mum’s followers for all their well wishes after the scary dash to hospital in a video shared on Instagram.

When Katie asked if he was happy, Harvey told her ‘I’m so happy mum’ before adding that he wanted to tell their fans: ‘Thank you everyone, I love you.’

The update came after she was said to be ‘worried to bits’ after her son Harvey was rushed to hospital with ‘uncontrollable shaking’.

Hours earlier, Harvey, who is on the autism spectrum and was born with disabilities including partial blindness, ADHD and Prader-Willi syndrome, received his first COVID vaccine, having been declared clinically extremely vulnerable.
