It comes after Katie proudly flashed her eighth diamond engagement ring as she insisted that her romance with Carl is ‘different’ on Tuesday’s Good Morning Britain.

The newly-engaged couple appeared on the episode for a joint interview where Katie also reflected on her life-changing stint at The Priory before the first lockdown in 2020 after ‘everything got to her’.

During the interview, Katie, who already has five children, and Carl also revealed that they are trying for a baby together with the duo hoping to have ‘one or two’ kids.

The former glamour model, who went makeup-free after turning up late due to traffic, said her stint at The Priory ‘changed her life’ and that she realised: ‘I am a human, not a product.’

Before her 2020 visit, Katie last visited the facility in September 2018 when she spent 28 days as an inpatient after her family urged her to seek help following wild partying antics in Mallorca.

Talking on Tuesday’s GMB, the former glamour model said: ‘I tell you what it is, last year before I went into The Priory, I was in there for five and a half weeks, everything just got to me. I wasn’t myself.

‘It was a year and a half ago now, just before lockdown. I was in a bad way and I knew I had to get help. Mentally, I couldn’t focus on anything. So I was in there for five and a half weeks, it literally changed my life.

‘I came out as a different person – more assertive, more in control, not being dictated to and realised I am a human, I’m not a product. These days I pick and choose what work I want to do, I won’t be pulled here, there and everywhere.

‘I think if I’d met Carl before it wouldn’t have worked. Now I’m a different person. I’ve met him, he’s strict, keeps me in line.

‘I’ve turned from immature to a real woman again and back to the business woman that I want. And I don’t drink, don’t party. Nothing.’

While Carl noted: ‘I like to think I’ve got a bit of credit to do with that. She’s got to want to adjust though. But even from when I first met her to now, I can see a massive change in her.

‘When I first met her I felt like she was quite fragile still. She needed to not be nurtured, but just be almost looked after and calmed down. She’s not [tough] it’s all a persona.’

Katie, who has been engaged eight times and married three, insisted that this time it is ‘different’ with her husband-to-be as she proudly showed off her custom made diamond.

She said: ‘Completely different, my dress will be different, I will look different and my mind is different and I know so many people out there: ‘Yeah we’ve heard this before’.

‘Yeah, because before I’ve rushed into things so much, made wrong choices, but my head wasn’t right. My head is so right now, I’m a different person.’

Katie is mum to Harvey, 18, from her relationship with Dwight Yorke. While she welcomed children Junior, 15, and Princess, 13, with ex-husband Peter Andre.

She also shares Bunny, six, and Jett, seven, with ex Kieran Hayler.

It comes after Katie revealed that she will get married to Carl this year as she wants her terminally ill mother Amy to be ‘well enough’ to attend.

The newly engaged couple shared details about their upcoming ‘completely different’ nuptials in a candid interview with OK! magazine last month.

The mother-of-five insisted that their wedding, which they are planning for this year, will not be ‘boring’ or a ‘bog-standard’ affair with only guests who have an ’emotional value’ invited.
