Kimberley Walsh gave Emmerdale star sister Amy Walsh tips during character Tracy Metcalfe’s pregnancy storyline as the singer is expecting third child

Her Emmerdale character Tracy Metcalfe is set to give birth next week.

And actress Amy Walsh, 33, got some real-life tips on playing pregnant from her sister, singer Kimberley Walsh, 39, who is expecting her third child this summer.

Amy sent a ‘blanket text’ out to her friends and family after learning about her character’s impending due date.

Some sent her jokes, but ex-Girls Aloud member Kimberley gave her younger sister plenty of advice about what it was like to have a baby. 

The soap star told the Mirror: ‘When my sister gave birth, the midwife would shout at her, ‘Chin on chest’. Little things like that make it more real.

‘Kimberley also told me it’s all in the breathing and using your breath to get through the contractions.’

Tracy, who Amy has played since 2014, is set to give birth to Nate Robinson’s baby next week after going into birth two weeks early.

The fictional couple learned Tracy was pregnant early in their romance but agreed to have the child. 

They were relieved when Nate received a suspended prison sentence.

Amy, who has no children of her own, loved being fake pregnant on set. 

She said: ‘There’s something quite comforting about it. People would look at you in a different way, too. Everyone’s nicer to you when you’re fake pregnant!’

The blonde celeb is reportedly dating EastEnders’ Toby Alexander-Smith, who plays villain Gray Atkins on the long-running BBC soap.

Toby and Amy made their first public appearance together in December at the opening night of A Christmas Carol in London.

It is thought they were previously dating in secret, with a source telling the Sun: ‘It’s early days but they really like each other.

‘They’re both very busy with packed work schedules at opposite ends of the country, but they try to spend as much time together as they can.’

Amy split from fiancé Bradley Jaden in 2018 after a year-long engagement.
