‘I really love where everything is at with Uncommon James and my kids. I’m feeling really at peace and really happy right now.’

Kristin donned feathers and frills in the glamorous Marion Davies-inspired shoot styled by the magazine’s co-owner and creative director Derek Warburton.

In one psychedelic-style shot, Cavallari posed in full glam while reclining in a bathtub.

The Very Cavallari alum admitted it’s been ‘challenging’ co-parenting three children under age 8 with her estranged husband Jay Cutler, whom she separated from last year.

‘Especially in the beginning when everything is so fresh still. But we’re just navigating it the best way we know how,’ Kristin explained.

‘Now that I’m older, I really respect that. I always want my kids to see Jay and me as a united front. He’s their father. That’s important and they need to see that from me.’

Cavallari stressed: ‘Never put the kids in the middle of it. No matter how mad you are at your ex-spouse. One thing that my mom did was she never said anything bad about my dad.’

The 5ft3in blonde only returns for one episode of the second season of The Hills: New Beginnings – airing Wednesdays on MTV – despite producers asking her to become a series regular.

‘I loved filming and seeing everybody – it was like no time had passed. Even though I come from that world and I started at 17, there’s an element of stress that comes with people judging your life,’ Kristin said.

‘I wouldn’t go back to The Hills as a regular because I’m really enjoying my life right now and I don’t want my life all over TV. I have a really solid balance between work and life, and I don’t want to rock that boat.’

On Thursday, Cavallari’s castmate Brody Jenner teased to PeopleTV that she ‘comes in, she stirs up the pot. She gets everybody riles up and definitely knows how to make some good TV.’

The True Comfort author famously starred in the MTV spin-off from 2009-2010 after heading up Laguna Beach from 2004-2006 – both of which were criticized for fabricating storylines.
